I will always wonder what would have happened if Maya hadn't made Riley fall into Lucas' lap. How would Lucas and Maya's dynamic have been different if they had met in that moment and Riley hadn't been part of the equation?

It's hard to tell, because Maya consistently pushed them together after that, if she hadn't encouraged Riley's crush, then Lucas & Riley would have never bought into this 'oh, she fell in his lap it was fate' mindset, & they would have become just friends pretty quickly.... leaving the door wide open for Lucas & Maya...

^ I love thinking about AUs and 'what if's, so that question will always be something that I will wonder about. You do bring up some interesting points. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Maya see Lucas first? If I'm right and she noticed him before Riley, then that means that she thought he was cute. That's how I'm seeing it, and nothing and no one can change my mind. =p

I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure she did & then she was the one that pointed him out to Riley

^ Exactly. Something about him must have caught her eye. There is another explanation for that first scene, which would centered more around Riley/Maya and Riley/Lucas than Lucas/Maya, but I'm kind of not considering that.
