I can't remember for sure, but I really don't think we did. Maybe Turner just didn't want to overstep his place, & knew that if there was a chance that Chet could shape up & take care of Shawn, then he didn't want to get in the way of that?

^ That's how I remember things. I think that's what Mr. Turner told Shawn when he decided to step up as his guardian at the end of season two, that he would be there for him for as long as he needed him.

^ Ah, they did show that.

=) That's a possibility. I think Mr. Turner would have gone through with it if he thought Shawn didn't have anyone else who could be there for him. His parents were still out there and I think he had hope that they would work things out and come back for Shawn. Maybe he didn't want to go through with it and then lose Shawn when his parents came back.

Those are the only reasons I can come up with too... if Chet had stayed away a bit longer, I bet Turner would have gone through with it

^ I think so too. If Mr. Turner ever thought that Chet wasn't coming back, or if he saw that Shawn wasn't doing so well with the temporary situation he had given him, then I think Mr. Turner would have gone through with it.

^ Exactly. I love how Mr. Turner put Shawn first. From what I remember, he took very good care of him, even though he didn't have much (or any) experience in being a guardian.

Yeah, I can't imagine how strange it must have been for a single guy to suddenly have a teenage boy to look after, & even though it freaked him out, it came quite naturally to him

^ Oh, for sure. I remember how Miss Tompkins wanted some kind of commitment from Mr. Turner, and he couldn't give her what she wanted...but then he turned around and committed to being Shawn's guardian.

Aw, I love that scene! I wonder how many times people thought Mr. Turner was Shawn's father.

^ I think so too. They defiintely gave off the father-son dynamic. =p Yeah. It was awesome! The fact that they didn't correct that man told me that they did love each other like fathers and sons do.

^ As the shows have pointed out to us numerous times, you don't have to be blood to be family.

Mr. Turner and Shawn definitely got that message across. I will always think of them as father and son.
