^ I just have this feeling that he was the kind of guy who picked up skills very quickly, and that he was lucky enough to win when he tried his hand at gambling, so he kept at it until he started losing and he got into some trouble.

I can see that, I also think he was probably a little naive & could be drawn into a situation like that by someone else

^ For sure! I think he was drawn into the world of gambling because he wanted to have some fun with some friends, but then he got hooked on it and he couldn't get himself out.

Yeah, he probably get swept up in it quite quickly & things got out of control - & then his parents had to step in

^ I can see that. I'm picturing Jack's parents realizing how deep he was in the world of gambling, which had them convincing him to go to Gamblers Anonymous.

^ Right? There was definitely a touch of struggle in Jack when he was faced with gambling, like betting on the big football game or having the winning numbers for the lottery.

Yeah, the whole lottery thing really brought out a dark side in him

^ It did. I remember the look he gave Eric when he thought that Eric hadn't chosen the winning lottery numbers. If Jack hadn't ripped up the ticket and shoved the ticket down his throat, he would have won that jackpot.
