^ I love the second scenario you came up with. That would have been more true to the theme of the show that you don’t have to be blood to be family.

Do you think Maya worried that Shawn wouldn't always be part of her life if he wasn't married to Katy?

^ Ah. I wish TPTB had done in a different direction with that. I would have preferred it if they made it clear that Shawn was going to be in Maya's life, even if he and Katy weren't a couple.

I wish TPTB had taken the Hunter-Harts and used them to show us that a family doesn't have to have a dad, a mom and a child. They could have made those connections without the requirement of marriage.

I agree, especially in this day & age where every family is different. Taking a character like Maya & having her family become more nuclear & depicting that as something she needed to be happy just rubbed me up the wrong way.

^ I agree. I think there's a good chance that TPTB would have taken the Hunter-Harts in that direction if the show had been on a different channel.

I agree, that whole thing was pretty 'disneyfied', a different network might have let them be more realistic

TPTB took these three characters and they put them together for a lifetime. They must have thought hard about the choice before they made it official. I will always wonder if they had other plans for them.
