^ That's more likely. Sometimes I think they would have one conflict that would cause them to be separated for a little while (i.e. for an episode).

^ I can only think of boyfriends being a reason that they spend less time with each other. After a while, one of them brings it up, and they get into a disagreement and they decide to take some time apart. I can see them being upset with each other for a day or so, but then they will realize that they can spend time with their boyfriends and with each other.

^ It's the best I could come up with. I'm happy to know that you can see that scene. =) A lot of friends have that disagreement, and even though Riley and Maya are freakishly close, I can imagine them having that disagreement as well.

I think that because they're freakishly close, they're more likely to have jealousy issues like that

I think it could go one of two ways. Either they would know that it's important for them to have other significant bonds besides their sisterly bond, or they would get upset that there is someone who is spending more time with their best friend than they are.

I think that even if they rationally knew that it's a good thing for them to have happy romantice relationships, they still wouldn't be able to help being a bit jealous

^ I'm sure that would have been addressed at some point during the show...if only it had gone for another season or two.

Random observation about that gif set -- it doesn't matter who's on the left side and who's on the right side, Maya always flips with her right hand, and Riley always flips with her left hand.

^ Yeah. I have the most random of observations.

They clicked right away. I wouldn't be surprised if the first time they did the hair flip and 'stop it' was so in sync that they were blown away by it.

^ I think so too. I've always thought that their dynamic/friendship was so natural and effortless. They clicked from the day they met, and I'm sure that won't change, no matter how old they are.
