^ I agree. Riley learning to deal with life's ups and downs in her own way and Maya giving Riley the space to stand on her own two feet would have been an important step in their friendship. I expected that they would have gotten there at some point in a season or two.

^ Oh, for sure. My favorite part of Cory and Shawn's friendship was watching their journeys, both as separate people as they learned and grew and as friends as their bond grew and strengthened. I was really looking forward to watching Riley and Maya have the same kind of journey. I'm sad and disappointed that we didn't get to see more of their bond and growth.
