I kinda think it would be better for them the later they get together, once they've figured out who they are & what relationships should be, but there's another part of me that thinks it wouldn't just simmer under the surface for that long

I always pictured them getting together when they were older too. They would make a good couple once they grew up some more and realized what they wanted.

I can see that, & I do like the idea of it, but I look at scenes like the one in ACM & I think that Riley is getting closer to that realization...

I think he'll take longer than Riley, I think he'd be the one to try harder to deny his feelings because he had a crush on her for so long before

I agree with both of you. I can definitely picture them finding their way down the road to love when they're older and therefore have learned more about life and love.

I think it would take Riley longer to come to that realization. Farkle already felt those feelings for her on some level, so he would know when those feelings resurface. On the flipside, Riley didn't really let herself acknowledge those feelings, so she would take longer to recognize and then accept those feelings.
