^ I always notice the little ones the most often. Nobody really pays attention to them, so they know all kinds of secrets that the people around them try so hard to hide. Imagine how much Auggie knows about the people around him.

^ People tend to underestimate a little kid's ability to understand what is going on around him or her because he or she is so young. In Auggie's case, maybe they overestimated his ability to understand the world around him. Maybe that's why everyone in Auggie's life thought that he knew more than he did.

I think that's mostly true, but in some cases he was much wiser than his years & would explain things to the older kids
