^ PARALLEL! And if you look closely, you can even see that the two characters on the right side of each scene/gif (i.e. Cory and Maya) are both wearing yellow. I wonder if that was planned or a total coincidence.

^ I wouldn't be surprised either. You're right. TPTB did seem to want to parallel the two friendships in that moment. They were both so sure that they wouldn't be separated...and then they were.
