^ I think so too. I am sure that Will tried his best to make William laugh or at least crack a smile in their moments together. I bet he succeeded in at least one of those moments.

 I'm pretty sure some of Eric's more out-there moments with Mr. Feeny were Will's best attempts to get William to crack a smile or laugh. =p__________________

It was obvious that Will really loved William, as a person and as his co-star. I can't imagine what the show would have been like if we hadn't gotten Eric/Mr. Feeny as a bond. They really were one of the best bonds on the show.      __________________

The ep towards the end of s5 after Eric knows that Feeny is moving away really kills me, there's a scene towards the end where Feeny explains that he likes the quiet of the place where he's moving to, & Eric asks, 'if I'm really, really quiet, will you stay?'

Yeah, he had no answer for that! He had made the decision to leave, but he couldn't stand that it was hurting Eric, & I think it first him him then how much he was going to miss Eric too!

I think Mr. Feeny knew that his decision to leave would hit Eric hard, but from the looks of it, he didn't expect that it would hit Eric that hard. __________________
