Evey/V #1: 'Cause he fell in love with her.

Welcome to the Evey and V thread! These characters came from the movie V for Vendetta. Evey is played by the gorgeous actress, Natalie Portman. V is played by the cute, Hugo Weaving.

How could you NOT like these two together? There is so much chemistry between them!

Shipper List:
1. - Tina -
2. jopace1970

Let me know if you wanna be added to the list!

What is everyone's favorite scene between V & Evey?

My favorite scene would have to be when she freaks out and starts to breakdown in front of V. He tells her to commit to this moment...

Sorry, was away! But I'm back now.

I liked both of them - not as much as say, Andrew/Sam, but I liked them. Great acting by both Hugo Weaving and Natalie, as always. It's been a long time since I watched the film so I can't really remember scenes though. But the standout is the post-torture scenes and the one where he shows her the shrine to Valerie. And the ending. The ending. Wow.

Hey there, Gwen!

I believe that Hugo did such an awesome job playing V. He put so much emotion into it and he was wearing a mask! Now, not everyone can do that! I heard somewhere that he wasn't the orginial V!

Of course, Natalie did an awesome job. She always does. But in this one, you saw so much emotion... damn... this girl can ACT!

Some quotes between them:

Evey Hammond: [reads] Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
V: [translates] By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
Evey Hammond: Personal motto?
V: From "Faust".
Evey Hammond: That's about cheating the devil, isn't it?
V: It is.

***

V: Would you... dance with me?
Evey Hammond: Now? On the eve of your revolution?
V: A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having!

***

Evey Hammond: I don't want you to die.
V: That's the most beautiful thing you could have ever given me.

I liked the bit where they first met, you know, and he was saying all those words with V in it. I went on MSN after that and tons of people had that quote of his as their nickname which was cool.

Who was supposed to be the original V?

The information is on imdb.com:

* James Purefoy was originally cast as V but left the project because he had great difficulty breathing behind the Guy Fawkes mask. Hugo Weaving was then brought in to take his place.

But I find it weird that James couldn't breath in the mask but Hugo could? He must have a better time breathing than he does.

It does look hard to breathe in though. Which highlights even more the depth of Hugo Weaving's performance - to hide behind a wooden mask and yet convey so much emotion, so much passion. Incredible.

I agree, Gwen. He was awesome in this movie.

Do you think just anyone could replace Natalie or Hugo?

The thing is I'm sure there are plenty of capable actors/actresses out there who could do the parts of V and Evey, no problem. It's just that it'd be different, you know? I don't think there'll be the same depth of intensity. And anyway you have to salute Nat for daring to shave her head off, I can't see many of today's actresses going to such lengths (alright, bad pun) for a character.

Hey Gwen.
I have to agree with you on that. The movie wouldn't have been the same if there were other actors.
