And I know we've had quite the discussions (with Red as well) in the past of this "bad boy" phenomenon and I was so resistant to it.... and I still feel like putting them into the "good guy" box or "bad guy" box can understate or limit their character depth (even George's), but you have convinced me that this phenomenon is alive and thriving in the industry right now... and controlling the artistic direction chosen by these shows and their writers/producers. And you know what? I think they are all just shooting themselves in the foot. As you have pointed out, in the past... it appeals to a younger demographic group... that's who they are aiming to please and they are completely missing the boat with everyone else. So, they think it sells. But they forget it does not sell to everyone. If they continue to charge headfirst down this path, they are going to lose, IMO.

About the good guy thing, I know plenty of young people who do like the good guys.

Just on this thread, we have several younger fans.

I think while many people do like the bad boys, they also want a good guy around to balance it all, you know?

Reading the comments on George, a lot mentioned the humanity he brought to the show, and I think the writers underestimate how many people value that in a show.

We should use Wala's title for the next thread.

Work is crazy lately. We are still waiting for the Senate to adjourn. The House did on Friday so basically I haven't been able to do much of anything but work.

I had a 13 hour worknight last week. We usually start around 4 pm, but tonight I'm going there at 7 pm. Then tomorrow, my day schedule should start.

Are you a teacher?

I love all those moments the author mentioned, and she's right. We could easily do a top 20 moments with George. He had so many great scenes.

I watched the episode from season 2 the other day where George was giving Christina hell by living in Burke and Christina's apartment and being his best friend and he was in her face all day.
