I was thinking about that. Maybe we could spruce up the OP a bit with new TR photos and we could come up with more reasons why TR and George are so special to us and write them in the OP.

I guess I'm not allowed to put spoilers up here, but according to Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly...I guess all I can say is that I suspect George could be getting a bit more screen time in the second half of the season since it seems to be confirmed that his lack of scenes on the show has nothing to do with backstage drama or being written off. But someone asked Ausiello, showing that fans have noticed his absence.

I don't know if I can say more than that, but I'm sure you all can check it out yourselves online.

I don't think I ever asked, but could I be added to that list of fans? And I love those pictures of him!

I've read and it's still not satisfactory. Other actors (Chandra Wilson and Justin Chambers to name a few) have had quiet seasons without being virtually absent. They also interact with others in a logical fashion and they're always referenced. It's sad how no one cares he had a successful intern exam, except Richard and Lexie. With his strong professional relationship with Bailey, you'd think she'd be more interested in his new status as a resident as with Izzie and Meredith. I expected one of them to say "Isn't it great George finally passed!" to someone else and then proceeded with the germane conversation. George's stories are lately rarely ever given any importance outside a small group. In fact there is a disturbing pattern of isolating George from the core of the show. He hardly connects with the "stars" and stayed within the sphere of peripheral characters. Notice when Lexie's profile became higher their association became brittle. His strongest ties now are to Richard but the latter has a limited function within the series.

"The second half of the season" is a vague timeframe and can be as late as April episodes. We've been burned by previous Shonda pronouncements of great storylines for George. These often don't materialize, are quite minor, or are postponed until a much later date. Even on the rare ocassion he has a decent plot its impact manages to be minimized. Excuse me if I'm less thrilled with any of her declarations. I once loved this show but with no George and emphasis on extraneous characters I've begun to record episodes but now I think I'll stop watching altogether until I'm assured fair treatment for him. My new love is Life on Mars and I better enjoy before ABC cancels it.

Someone touched said it well on the previous thread but TR's enormous talent is what brings George to life. They might try to soften Mark and Alex but, especially in the case of Justin, they fail miserably because they haven't the empathy nor the earnestness TR conveys. On the horrid spin-off, Private Practice, Paul Adelstein plays a character named Cooper, who's a cross between George and Alex. He succesfully replicates Alex but is so unconvincing as George because his relations to kids aren't nearly as warm and, as with many American actors, doesn't make himself vulnerable enough to be believable. Shonda tried to replicate the Izzie-George friendship with Coop-Violet but she's so depressing and her relations with him has a creepy overtone of possessiveness. On my favorite Life on Mars there is a cop named Chris, who reminds me of George, and has potential. While the actor, Jonathan Murphy, is certainly competent TR would've fully realized that role and madehim more compelling. I often wonder what material TR has to surrender being tethered to the sinking ship.

I completely understand. I have some hope that George will get more airtime in the second half, but you're right that's a very vague statement. But I can be a little of a foolish optimist. I have missed the George/Izzie friendship which was one of the greatest parts of the show for me, and I hope the show will once again bring that friendship back onscreen. However, there has been more of focus on new characters, whom I'm an not interested in at all. That's why I plan to record the episodes, too. There's also a lot lately that I think I'll need to fast forward unfortunately since some storylines seem to be going in directions I don't like right now. I'm just glad that people seem to be speaking up about TR Knight's absence so that Ausiello, another TV columnist in a widely read column, had to address it. George does have fans and people do miss him.

I agree. I think TR has a great amount of talent and though Shonda seems to be trying to soften Mark and Alex is George-ish ways, they can never replace George. It's killing me how little he's on the show.

In all honesty, I started watching in the first place b/c of George. I'd seen sporadic scenes here and there of like season 2, and when I did, before I even knew his name, I really like "the cute, geeky guy" as I referred to him. I'd always ask my sister (the one in the house who started watching ages before the rest of us) if "the cute, geeky guy" was still there. So when I finally started watching like at the very, very end of season 3, I went from liking "te cute, geeky guy" to be full-out in love with George!!

I also agree, that the OP should be spruced up. More reasons why we love him, more art/icons/etc!

I'm glad that peeps agree that the OP needs to be spruced. Frankly, its dismal and plain... and its getting on my nerves.

. I made this in a quick half an hour, just an idea about how the OP could be like... I liked the green with the black and white, it could be a colour scheme, maybe? We gotta have a colour scheme, otherwise it just won't work.

I'm totally anal about these things.

Oh! And reasons!

Because he's OUR Knight in shinning whatever.
Because he has talent far beyond the likes Grey's Anatomy has ever seen.
Because he's both beautiful on the inside and the outside.
Because its T.R. Knight...'nuff said.
Because he's so lovable and cute, its crazy.
Because he makes us swooon with his acting AND his shirtless scenes...

Thats all I gots for now... Will think of more laters!

Oh I love it. I am between a green and a blue theme for him.

I wish I could find those photos of TR emerging from a poll in a suit all wet looking so so amazingly hot.

My reasons:

Because he doesn't have an arrogant bone in his body
Because his smile can melt the coldest heart
Because he can express so much without saying a word
Because he brings warmth and heart to the show
Because he makes George O'malley irreplaceable

We need to continue letting Shonda know how much we love him. We need to wcontinue writing to Aussiello, Kristen, Matt.
