Favourite episode: 5x17 ('I Will Follow You Into The Dark') or 5x24 ('Now or Never').
Least favourite episode: Before And After.
Favourite character(s): Bailey, Owen, Alex, Cristina.
Favourite pairing (of any nature): Romantic: Alex/Izzie; Friendship: Cristina/Izzie (I love the way it started to develop in 5x18 and beyond.
Favourite scene(s): All Izzie's scenes with the interns in 5x17, especially when she yells at them for expecting a "prize everytime they hand someone a death sentence"; Cristina telling Bailey and Alex that Izzie has cancer; AI wedding.
The scene that made you want to throw your TV out the window: When Denny appeared in Izzie's beach hallucination in 5x23. I thought, "Seriously?? He's STILL not gone??"
Scene that made you laugh the most: Alex giving the Chief his cup full of sperm while the Chief was eating. "I washed my hands"

Most heartbreaking moment: Meredith crying to Derek after watching Eric Stoltz's character be executed; Owen apologising/breaking down to Cristina after choking her; Alex crying in front of Meredith (in 5x19 and 5x22), Alex taking the scarf off Izzie to reveal her bald head; Izzie seeing George when the elevator opened at the end of the finale, and realising what seeing him meant.
What do you think about the season, as a whole? I liked it for the most part. Owen was a fantastic addition, and I appreciated seeing Meredith and Derek in a stable relationship. I loved all the developments with Alex's character (reuniting with Izzie; growing confident in his career), and Izzie's cancer storyline in the last 8 episodes gave the show a real boost. Of course, the Denny storyline dragged after a while (I still think 3 or 4 episodes should have been enough before Izzie realised she could see him because she was sick). Also, I hated seeing George be sidelined, and I think his decreased presence was a bigger blow for the show than the Denny storyline. But overall, the creative quality was up over Season 4.
Most boring storyline, why?: Not really a storyline, but when the Chief took a day off to mope in an exam room about how far the hospital had fallen. It showed what a useless Chief he is when he takes time out just to feel low instead of being an effective leader and doing something pro-active to bring the hospitla out of its decline.
Most entertaining storyline, why?: Mark and Lexie getting together. It wasn't my favourite storyline of the season by any means, but it was the only one I could sit back and enjoy without worrying one of them would die (like with Izzie), one of them would have a breakdown (like with Owen), or stop speaking altogether (like with Meredith and Cristina). It was a strange pairing at first, but ultimately a fun change for Sloan, and a cool storyline to get Lexie out of Meredith's shadow.
Rank the season, 1 - 10: 8/10. I am going easier on the Denny SL in retrospect, so the two points Season 5 loses are because of how George was treated. Not cool that he was treated like a spare tyre.
Anything you'd like to say? Just that Shonda had better recognise how much she tested the faith of the audience this season. The show survived by the skin of its teeth at times, and I don't want to see that repeated in Season 6.

Favourite character(s): Cristina, Owen, Alex, Izzie, Callie, Derek and Bailey
Favourite pairing (of any nature): Owen/Cristina
Favourite scene(s): Too much to remember them all

The scene that made you want to throw your TV out the window: All the DI scenes
Scene that made you laugh the most: When Mark told Cristina he was hitting on her all day

Most heartbreaking moment: When Owen apologizes to Cristina after what he hurted her, when Izzie tells Cristina she's not sure if she wants treatment, when Alex has his breakdown infront of Meredith (5x19),.... uh and so much more this was quite a heartbreaking season LOL
What do you think about the season, as a whole?: It was not the best... but also not the worst... the only thing that bothers me is that it was a quite heartbreaking one and how wrong the SL with Izzie's sickness was handled at the beginning.
Most boring storyline, why?: Sadie. Do I really have to explain? I don't know what the point of having here there was

Most entertaining storyline, why?: Can't decide

Scene that made you laugh the most: uhmm I dunno Chief, Alex and the intern're laughing at the patient who tried a wrong sex position.

What do you think about the season, as a whole? Good
Most boring storyline, why?: Denny/Izzie SL. It was too long.
Most entertaining storyline, why?: Owen/Cristina SL

Owen was an amazing casting choice.

how horrible that we have to wait till september to watch the new season. i never cried so much during an episode as i did during the last one....hoy izzy and george look at eachother at the very end....AARGH! cant wait till september

Least favourite episode: I dunno either 'In the midnight hour' or 'These Ties That Bind'
Favourite character(s): Alex
Favourite pairing (of any nature): Alex/Izzie and Christina/Hunt
Favourite scene(s): everything just remotedly related to Lexzie in the 100th episode
The scene that made you want to throw your TV out the window: the moment in 'in the midnight hour' when Mer realises it's not Alex in Izzie's room. I felt so bad for Alex.
Scene that made you laugh the most: I don't know exactly if it was this season but when Callie is giving Hahn the sexy looks and Bailey sees

and also Christina's dream in the SP
Most heartbreaking moment: Alex talking to Mer in the on call room and also just both the last scenes of the finale (Mer realising it's George and Izzie coding in Alex' arms)
What do you think about the season, as a whole?:It was a pretty good season to be honest. I detested the Denny storyline but the cancer storyline it led up to almost made up for it.
Most boring storyline, why?: anything related to Sady. seriously that character was unnecessary
Most entertaining storyline, why?: The cancer storyline.

I didn't love this season or hated it either,it was like Izzie anatomy not Greys anatomy and I know some people will stay its ensemble show and Izzie has the biggest SL,but no character ever had a SL dragged through 20 eppies with her chewing up most of the screen and if you watch ER its an ensemble show and you do not have one character taking most of the sceentime while the title character is being pushed into some supporting 4rank.

Too many pointless SL and characters like Hahn because Brooke Smith was fired and then now they are adding AZ a Callie girlfriend so they don't look homophobic just some damage control Also lets not forget Sadie and Dr.Dixson and the stupid cutting themselves interns.
Cristina and Owen and Mark and Lexie newbies couple didn't impress me so much too,they dated for a few eppies and then they are in love and we have Cristina acting like Meredith I cant breath and Mark being trued into Derek in S4 begging Lexie for a commitment and she is no ready how original right.

Poor George and TR was shoved aside for the whole season jus to get his by a bus,it would have killed Shonda to give him some screentime but no she give the ghost Denny more screen time then him since she loved JDM so much.Also the stupid crosover Addison has her own hour where she take up most of screentime in her own show PrP yet she being brough into GA every season to save PrP ratings while Mereidth get shoved aside in her own show UGH.
I guess in S6 it will all about Izzie yet again since they have tons of SL set up for her recovering from cancer and her marriage to Alex and mourning over George,I just hope they wont be using MerDer to promote it.

That was more of a rant,but I'm just pointing out the facts.

I agree that there was TOO MUCH Izzie this season. I wanted more Meredith and there should have been more of her because this is Grey's Anatomy. The Denny SL was too long and then the 100th was all about Izzie. TOO LITTLE screentime for George and then they kill him off

You have no idea how I appreciate this from an Izzie\AI fan.I always get accused of wanting the MD hour and hating Izzie and KH the minute I mention this season was devoted to her which is a fact and even in the 100 eppy I was not pissed about the wedding going to AI as much as I was pissed the whole 100 was given to Izzie and they promoted as MD and they had like 2 miuntes.

I'm not an Izzie fan actually. Just an Alex and AI fan

But there was too much Izzie and too little Meredith this season.
And the lack of MD in the 100th episode was ridiculous

They didn't need to get married to have quality screentime...

One of my biggest frustration with S5 is the lack of Meredith and MD they were fillers material while we had Callie and Erica and AZ and Sadie and Dr.Dixson sooo annoying.
I know many people loved S5 and think it was the best thing since they sliced the bread,but gosh are we going to have a S6 with Izzie being the center of attention while EP is on maternity leave UGH.

Oh I absolutely agree with you, WalaBridget. Actually, "Izzie's Anatomy" was the most clear-cut way you could describe Season 5. Now, I loved a lot of Izzie's stuff and I am a big AI fan, but I am struggling to recall off-hand 5 episodes this season where Meredith had the main storyline. I'm not saying there weren't 5 episodes with Meredith at the centre, but I am saying that it should not be a struggle for me to recall the title character being the main character. I was actually watching the Season 4 DVD recently, and I have to say that for me, a lot of the later episodes of that season were saved by Ellen's performances in Meredith's therapy scenes, so maybe more screen-time for Meredith & less screen-time for Denny in the first half of the season would have helped alleviate some of the criticisms a little bit.

And I am VERY curious to see how the show works around EP's maternity leave. I suppose they could film a chunk of scenes to spread across several episodes, but even that wouldn't make up for lost screen-time.

Meredith had like 3-5 eppies of being centric,I'm not saying all the season should be about Meredith,but she the show is named after her at the end of the day Its Greys anatomy .

It'd be really nice if we got a storyline for MD in S6, I know we had ''small'' ones in S5, But I want a big one, like Izzie had!
