I felt like Sadie and Steve and other interns were a test that failed in S5 just like Erica and Dr.Dixson.
Thanks godness non of them got to be a regular and I like AZ but she was not needed to be one in my opinion.

Dear lord I hear ya enough newbies

The problem is that here we have writers who think their SL is great enough so they just go overload with new character hoping they will be like Addison for example.

I like Arizona a lot.

To be honest I'm not that interested in both character and I don't they need to be regulars,but with Owen even though his character is tad depressing Cristina needed a love interest but with AZ no offense to any of Callie and AZ shippers,but I just wish this was not done to do damage control for the Brooke Smith firing fiasco.

You have to hand it to Shonda,though.
She has managed to introduce and dismiss a whole slew of characters.

True.

She introduced Addison and Callie in S2, Mark in S3, Erica and Lexie in S4 and Owen and Arizona in S5.
And she has dismissed Burke, Addison, Erica, George...

With regards to the change in regulars, it's not as bad. It's not irregular to bring a fresh new character or two in every year, when another character is leaving. Especially with a show like this. And with regards to the recurring guest stars... they're kind of needed, aren't they?

Well Nick for a business stand of view for the show they need new characters to milk the show if more core character leaves and cast like what happened with TR,but as viewers many people are sick and tired of new character every season when the regulars are enough and they don't even get enough screentime.

I just meant that people are constantly coming and going.
Sometimes it's good,sometimes it's bad.

The thing is I don't think we needed Denny to appear everywhere and have more screentime then George who was alive or Sadie or Dr.Dixson all were such a fail.
I don't give much credit to Shonda with the new character because I feel like she keeps adding new character without writing for the ones she had before and after Addison and Bruke for me Lexie,Erica and Owen and AZ you can easily take them away and it wouldn't effect the show.Anway, I never thought Grey's was about the comings and goings at Seattle Grace, but about Meredith Grey, her love life and co-workers/friends. If the show was called Seattle Grace, I doubt there'd be as much controversy with extending its run and/or adding new characters every season.
