Meredith lost the love of her life but I think Derek was her first real love (as far as we've seen). I can see her moving on eventually. But with Alex, after Izzie, Ava, Lexie, Lucy and then Jo it's too much to move on from so much tragedy.

I think it's the opposite, I can't see Meredith moving on from Derek but I can see Alex moving on from Jo. But the next woman he chooses to be with will be a safety net, with everything he's been through. That safety net is, obviously, Meredith.

I don't want anything to happen to Jo, but if it does, I do want Alex and Meredith together as fall-backs. Yes, it's cheap and a total cop-out, but I can't see anyone else equating Derek and Jo for those two.

It seems to me that Riggs will be Meredith's love interest later on, so no matter what happens with Jolex, I'm not worried for a Merlex romantic relationship for now.

Ugh, but if Meredith gets with Riggs and Owen opens up to Amelia. This will royally **** Merelia.

It's as if Shonda wants to eradicate all evidence of Shepherds.

I'd rather have Meredith with Alex if that's the case.

There is no Meredith and Amelia. They were never close so there is nothing to ruin.

But as of 11x21, they have something in common. Actually, they have two things in common. No, wait, three things in common!

1. they both lost a sibling (Derek for Amelia and Lexie for Meredith)
2. they both lost someone they love (Derek for Meredith and they guy who impregnanted Amelia in PP)
3. they both lost a baby (Meredith miscarried and Amelia had an anencephalic who died shortly after being born)

So right there, I don't see why they can't bond. Really, Shonda?

Or at the very least, have Amelia bond with April!

They both got to meet their babies who lived for some forty minutes.

There's so much development being left unexplored.
