I wanted to make two different films in a lighter spirit. The first, Il était une fois (Enchanted), aimed at children. It is a beautiful film, a different kind, which I am proud to have done, and it was a success from that point of view. Witness lovers then presented at a favorable moment, and I could manage both. Actually, I love cars since forever. When I was little, my father brought model cars on Friday evening, and I think my passion for cars began at that time. You are actively engaged in the fight against cancer and to persons with this illness, through the association and The Wellness Center at the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. These associations are designed to help patients, their relatives, but also to educate as many cancer screening. This cause is dear especially to heart. Can you tell us more about this commitment?
Certainly. What I find wonderful at L'Oréal is their commitment to the fight against ovarian cancer. My mother had five relapses of ovarian cancer, which is why this cancer especially affects me a lot.
I think it is really important to choose with whom one associates, and campaigns that are involved. I think it's courageous on the part of L'Oreal to engage against cancer, particularly ovarian cancer is extremely deadly. I created a foundation because I find it very difficult for people who are cancer patients to find answers to their questions: in regard to doctors, medicines, the health insurance and so on. So I visited my hometown, and I asked the community in which I spent my childhood in the hospital where I was born, where my mother was treated, where my sister was hospitalized, if there was a possibility, a real need for this kind of structure. They replied yes. We have therefore established a true dialogue to ask them what they need, trying to answer their questions, and exchange is still continuing. Because each of us will ever be touched by cancer, whether through a friend or family member, no one escapes. I think a man should respect women. I grew up surrounded by women, I was the youngest. I have two older sisters, I was always with women and I think I can say that I have great respect for my wife, what it does as a mother and as a woman.
