I love baking, but I'm not up at midnight doing it. Share your recipies with others! I'll start. Chocolate Chip Coffee-like Cake (minus coffee )1 package of white cake mix 1½-2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 package of vanilla icing mix Bunt cake pan (or angel food cake pan will work best) Directions: Prepare cake batter according to instructions on package. Add in chocolate chips. Pre-heat oven according to instructions on package. Grease and flour pan if necessary according to the type of pan (I still do this no matter what kind, dark or silver pan). Add batter. Icing: Add 1 cup of icing from the package (you can always save the rest like I did). Add a tablespoon of water to mix until you get a half watery half creamy mixture (no not add oil or butter). Mix well. Drizzle icing over cake after the cake is cooled and out of pan to your decorating desire. Mine covered almost all of it once it settled, but it's really good. My family loves this cake and I just did it yesterday. It's gone already. | I love your avy pic Mrs. George Eads! Yeah! I'm getting the hang of this cooking thing. I used to make just cookies and things, but for mother's day I made my mom pork chops (with homemade applesauce! ), baked potatoes and peas. A whole meal! | Because Izzie makes cupcakes and cakes, I think she probably makes brownies too. I picked this recipe because I know that interns love coffee. Java Brownies 1 1/2 sticks of butter 3/4 cup cocoa powder 1/2 cup espresso or brewed, strong coffee 2 cups sugar 3 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup all purpose flower Heat oven to 350 degrees. Like a 13x9" baking pan with foil, letting ends extend above pan on narrow ends. Coat foil with non stick spray. Microwave first 3 ingredients in a bowl on high at 15 second intervals until butter melts. Whisk to blend, then whisk in next 3 ingredients. Add flour; stir until combined. Spread in lined pan. Bake 30 min or until a toothpick test comes out with moist crumbs clinging. Cool in pan on wire wrack. Cut in 24 squares. I am so gonna do this!! I hope I have enough frosting tho. Probably not. Ah, oh well. Baked Ice Cream Cones 12 wafer ice cream cones with flat bottoms (I guess regular ones would work, never heard of wafer ones) 1 box of cake mix, any flavor 1 can prepared vanilla frosting food coloring sprinkles, optional Preheat oven to 350º F (180º C). Prepare cake batter according to package directions. Fill ice cream cones three-quarters full with batter. Carefully set cones on a baking sheet or in a muffin tin and place in the oven. Do not let the cones tip over. Bake 15-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Divide frosting between several different bowls and tint with food coloring to make colors that look like ice cream (pink, brown, mint green). Spoon icing into a pastry bag (or Ziplock sandwich bag, seal, cut tip at bottom- making a great piping bag if you don't have one) fitted with a large tip (no need for one in the Ziplock bag, just cut according to size). Swirl frosting onto the cone to make it look like soft-serve ice cream. Or frost with a butter knife for that scooped ice cream look. Add sprinkles, if you wish. Best cookie recipe we've ever found, even with different pudding flavours, without the vanilla extract, and with or without the nuts... ![]() Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies INGREDIENTS: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips (adjust to meet your own specifications) 1 cup chopped walnuts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Combine the flour and baking soda. Set aside. Mix the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, pudding mix, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add the eggs and mix well. Gradually stir in the flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and the chopped nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets about 1 inch apart. I like making treats for them and they jusr don't appreciate it. ^_^ They're lucky it's too hot to turn on the oven right now. My addition. These are the best right out of the oven, but later you can pop them in the microwave for about 15 seconds and get a similar effect. Chocolate chocolate chip muffins (from allrecipies) INGREDIENTS: 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate 1/3 cup unsalted butter 3/4 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup white sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Line 12 muffin cups with papers. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the semisweet chocolate together with the butter. Let stand until cooled, about 10 minutes. Lightly beat the egg. In a small bowl, stir together the chocolate-butter mixture with the buttermilk, sugar, egg, and vanilla, until blended well. In a large bowl, stir together flour, soda, and salt. Make a hole in the center of the dry ingredients, pour in the chocolate mixture, and stir until just combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips. Spoon the batter into the lined muffin cups. Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean. Remove muffin tin from oven and let stand at least 5 minutes, before removing the muffins and letting them cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or cooled; can be frozen as well. __________________ | |||
