Grey's Anatomy Star Lends Healing Hand Off Show Big Apple School, TCI Made it Happen

NEW YORK, (PRWEB) October 20, 2007 -- Ellen Pompeo, best known as Dr. Meredith Grey on the hit television show Grey's Anatomy, apparently is a healing soul in real life, as well as on her show. Pompeo, along with her family, has donated two mink coats to be auctioned off this Friday at the ten year anniversary of EIHAB Human Services, Inc., a non-profit organization which helps the developmentally disabled.

EIHAB - which stands for Empowering, Instructing, Habilitation, Assisting, and Bettering - has been providing a variety of essential services to people with developmental disabilities, in the New York metropolitan area, over the course of the last ten years.

Lubell explained, "Ellen Pompeo, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy is my cousin. I spoke to her about EIHAB'S anniversary and she and her immediate family members were anxious to help. So Ellen, along with Jimmy and Sheila of the Pompeo family, they have donated these mink coats to be auctioned off to benefit EIHAB."

The ten year anniversary celebration will take place at Sand Castle Caterers, 519 Franklin Square, New York on Friday, October 19th, between the hours of 7PM and Midnight.

Oh i agree total OTP!! They like totally rocked together, he was so nice and respected her!!

I really hope we see strong meredith this season because that has sadly been lacking in comparison to her relationship issues. I'd like to see a single strong meredith doing things for herself this season and not because she's worried if she doesnt get herself together then derek will leave her!!

I'd like to see her as a kickass surgeon that we know she is. I'd actually like to see her do surgery again, which we haven't in a while for some unknown reason?

she was a kick ass surgeon last S1. I hope she will focus more on her career than her lovelife since she's not yet ready for a serious relationship. I think she must prove to everyone especially to Derek that she can be a great surgeon someday just like her mom.

I miss it too.
she is the best resident, was the best intern, despite of Cristina.
She is balanced, she is intelligent, she is very good on what she does, she is sensitive without be emotional involved... she is wonderful.
I don't know why Mer lose so much time screen (in fact I know...) it is GREY'S anatomy, shonda have forgot about it?

I haven't felt like Meredith is having less screentime to be honest.

Really? I've felt like her airtime got cut in half. And it's all the worse because in the majority of the scenes she does have, she has no voice, no POV. It's gotten so that even though the next episode's plotline looks weird, I'm just grateful because it's the first Meredith-centric episode all season. This is GREY'S Anatomy, and Meredith has felt like she's barely a supporting character; very disappointing.

And them cutting her out of medical stuff has been happening since last season, which is VERY aggravating. Where are her amazing surgeries, incredible cases? She was supposed to be the most naturally talented intern- we barely see her in the OR. She's always been the glue that holds the five original interns together, the first in line to campaign for Alex with his test results, Izzie with the LVAD, Cristina with tremorgate. I want to see more amazing surgeries. I want to see more ACTUAL scenes as opposed to just passing scenes with Meredith and her friends. It's sad- Grandpa Gilmore gave her the first actual compliment she's gotten since sometime last season. I don't mean silly romantic speech, I mean someone acknowledging her strengths and intelligence.
