Okay so I don't "hate" her as much as I completely annoyed at how she was introduced on the series. Seriously, again with the whole bar theme reminded me too much of Mer...and to be honest? I don't like her perky/fiesty nature...to me it seems a bit heavy handed and cocky. Personally? I do feel territorial with all the characters who are veterans on the series. So much crap has happened in their lives, and with the brutal and messed up way Mer's bio-dad treated her? You KNOW there will be comparisons...and I think that will be distracting in general.

So, I don't appreciate Lexi because she's like the weaker/twisty version of Mer down to even the whole pass on Derek. She's completely unnecessary drama. AND our SGH boys can do a little better developing their OWN friendships/relationships with the ladies left on the series! For one, I would like to see the guys get better friendships with the girls like Christina and Izzie! I would like to see the girls work more closely together than before.


To be clear, this is a thread for people who don't like Lexi, what she represents and will bring for next season.

I agree i dont neccessarily hate her its the way she was introduced we know she is nothing more than a stupid plot device and i dont think she should have been brought in the way she was or now. We could have saved her till later when the season wasn't so screwed up!

I however can see shonda going down the soap opera route and have her being super sweet to everyone and then a mega biatch to meredith. Somehow i can see shonda doing that!!

Also hasn't she already used up 2 episodes of her 13 episode contract, please say its true because she're really a waste of a character at this point in time.

I also hope she isn't as bad as thatcher, even though i already have a low opinion of her because she drove her dad, her drunk dad, to a hospital to chew out meredith for no good reason. I mean isn't she an intern she should know it wasn't anyones fault!!

I also found it funny that meredith was indeed more torn up about susan's death thean her own daughter. I mean sure going to a bar may be a way she grevies but she didn't look so sad in the bar either!!

I'll probably contibue to UNapprecaite her until she goes because she is indeed unnecessary. And if she even tries to hook up with derek, once she knows who he is and who he was in a relationship with, thats a big no no!!

Well, I think it's a bit soon to be judging the character, but I do agree that the set-up is a little annoying.

However, for all you know, Lexie will be everyone's new favorite character next season. Addison was a plot-device once and while she certainly didn't win everyone over, she became so popular she got her own show...

Don't add me to the list or anything yet, I'll wait until next season to decide. But I do agree that the introduction of her character, the way everything is right now, leaves me feeling a little wary.

Haha I know its too soon to judge but I hate her on principle - she came onto Derek!! RUDE RUDE RUDE - and she's so a lesser version of Meredith because in the bar it was Derek who came onto Mer so Lexie is just a bit rubbish.
I'm really hoping she's not going to stir things up with Derek and Meredith but even if she doesn't I think she'll give a lot of attitude to Meredith because of the whole mother dying thing!!!
I'm just not a fan of her - so can i be added to the list?!

I'm sorry...this girl just asked him if she could buy him a drink, what's so rude about that? She probaly doesn't watch the show, and consequently doesn't know about him and Meredith.

If you saw McDreamy in a bar and had no idea he was taken, would you not ask him out? (I wouldn't, but that's because I don't find him attractive...most of the world seems to though...)

That was fast, she just said two lines...I think it might be kind of a record (although, I wasn't around when Addison was introduced, but I guess she got an unappreciation thread after just the 1 line in the finale right?) Do you guys think Lexie'll be portrayed as sort of likable, or will she be another "witch from the east"?

ETA: just to make sure I 'm not misunderstood, I wasn't criticizing anyone for opening the thread or posting too soon...I get the preemptive hating! I was just amused it had popped so quickly nothing more...

well, I mean the unappreciation doesn't mean you have to "hate" her per se. I made the thread but I really didn't like how she's been used and the way she seemed to be someone less than torn up at the bar then say meredith.

Is it too soon? well, i didn't like her in the episodebefore we even knew she was mer's sister. Some may see her and think she's got this "sweet" inquisitive side, but I didn't get that impression. So she tried to hook up with Derek. okay, but she just seems a bit too cocky from the getgo.

The way she even kind of stuck around to ask George questions and tips when everyone had left? I dunno...that seemed a bit awkward seeing as George gave everyone this little vibe of "I want to be alone".

Eh tomato - toomato. I think this thread works considering it won't be too long before things get OT in the general threads when chatting up about Lexi.
So i feel like this thread is just the "preemptive strike".

sorry extremely hardcore shipper of MerDer here, anyone who comes between them instantly gets my hate - she barely did anything i know but i can anticipate her being an absolute pain in the ass next season, and i'm not really wanting to invest in a new intern so....i don't really like her!

Well, on the subject of "investing", I think that's what gets me the most about her character coming on the show, and the way she's been introduced to us. I mean, it was different with Addison because she was Derek's wife. The backstory to that was different. Yet, with Lexi we know she's the prized golden calf where her drunken father worships on a good day. The fact it'll be made as sibling rivalry added with the Derek factor just annoys the hell out of me.

Plus how can we appreciate her now when everyone is already down and out? It was like salt on the wound, imo. I don't like her on principle and as far as how she's played out so far? Eh, i'm not impressed. Seriously, the two scenes we have of her?

a) She's thrown herself at Derek which wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't just apparently come from a funeral. And why alone? I thought as much she'd have been there with her family. Someone mentioned it was interesting how Meredith seemed more torn up than Lexi, so far. And I agree.

b) She sticks around at the locker room to ask George for some advice when he clearly looks like he's not in the mood for conversation.


I also want to go out and just say that I'm not a fan of meredith. I haven't been for a looong time. Yet, having invested so much attention and time in getting to know ALL these characters, Lexi just feels awkward. Yeah, she's new. But c'mon who are fooling? She's GOING to be some tacky plot device and her actions, like I've said don't impress me at all. At least Addison came on with a BANG

Honestly, for as much as I dislike meredith 90% of the time, I'd go to bat for her if it meant keeping tacky wayward sisters from getting all grubby in the storylines! LMAO. The last 3 episodes have been good in seeing Meredith evolve! She's actually become more interesting than irritating and so naturally, when I see Lexi and her storyline come into play? I fear it'll just make meredith regress! And I'm SOOO all about the Anti-Pity Party for 1 Meredith!

Yeh, when Lexie asked George questions - she's clearly one of those people who will do whatever it takes to get themselves ahead - she plays dirty this girl and I'm not up for it - if they're trying to make her into a Cristina type character - obsessed with surgeries, doing everything well etc etc, then....I'm not buying it!! I just don't like that they just threw her right in at the end there - like....its so reminiscent of Dawn appearing in BtVS at the end of season 4 or beginning of 5 i can't remember which! its annoying!

and come on, being at the bar on the night of her mother's funeral? she should be at home with her father and other sister because no one should be alone on that kind of night!! what i've seen of her so far i dont' like....and i totally think 2 scenes was enough to show me that!

well yeah exactly! I mean let's call it what it is...a distraction. Why else would they shove her with Derek at the bar? So "mysteriously" and WHY at the bar? They could have done it differently. For example...what if she were at the hospital? Maybe just missing her dad? She runs into Derek. She flirts a little, etc? But no. They chose an eerie/bizarro way of making it kind of similar to Mer's first encounter with him.
Yeah, i understand Derek is "dreamy" and everything, so what's a girl to do? I think it's obvious that Derek is a chick magnet. Fine. But why under such angsty melodramatic circumstances? oh yes, because it's a "drama". Well they could have written her into it better because the way Lexi was acting just seemed blah to me.

I just re-watched the episode? And I noticed that she was kind of nosy a bit, the way she asked him "Dr...?" You can tell she was already trying to keep tabs to figure out whose good side she would stay in.

I would have rather have her say:

Lexi: (smiles at George), I'm a bit nervous starting off here...(pause) I'm sorry, I didn't ask your name. Dr.?

George: George. You can call me George.

Lexi: Thanks, George. I'm Lexi, Lexi Grey.


--- Now that would have been a bit more interesting because it would have, at least to me, acknowledged that she was a bit out of place...and perhaps a bit noisy poking around asking him for advice just after the new interns' awkward moment of talking about "bloody scrubs". I just feel like she's fallen flat in the scenes we've watched so far, imo.

i think lexie would be a much better character as a sort of george but the girl version of george - i think that would be a really interesting dynamic! grey's is currently full of those really strong female characters (cristina, bailey, izzie, callie, meredith at times...etc etc.) and what we really need is a kind of quirky, goofy loveable character - she just is a bit too i don't know trying too hard to be the sexy surgeon and i don't think its a realistic character!!! i just don't like where the character is going from what we've seen already so.....yeh thats my general opinion on the subject.
