| Grey's Summer-Long Seasons 2 & 3 Marathon ~ New Eps to watch every Sun, Tues & Thurs I figured we could all use a little something to get us through the next several months until the premiere, so the idea to continue from where we left off at the end of the season one mini-marathon was born... ![]() And now that the hiatus is almost over, and the DVDs have been released, we're finally moving on to the very last episode of season three, 3.25, "Didn't We Almost Have It All"... Hope you all enjoyed this marathon, and I look forward to the possibility of setting another one of these things up during the next long hiatus...![]() Episode Summary Quote:

| I'm sorry, but I really don't see it. I just started watching Grey's this season and went out and bought the first two. I've been watching the older eps, along with the current season, and have a hard time noticing the differences. Do you say this because the third season felt more dark and gloomy? __________________ "We are all out of cornflakes. F.U. | The 3rd season, which I still enjoyed, didn't balance the comedy and drama, nor the medicine and the romance, as well as the first two did. It was rather over-dramatic at times, and, while I understand the show's focus is meant to be more on the relationships than the medicine, I still thought it was best to mix it, and this season seemed to be about 80% romance. Some of the major storylines seemed rushed or ill-planned to me too (Addison's abortion, the Bang tremor thing, Meredith's drowning fiasco, and the Gizzie triangle). The timeline has gone nuts too-- which is something I think most people can simply suspend their disbelief and get over, but it's one of those annoying little things that irks me. ![]() That said, I LOVE "Raindrops..." I felt so bad for Meredith. But I loved when Addison tells that lady off at the end ![]() And Meredith/Cristina's "I'm your person" moment is (that happened here, right? I haven't rewatched it yet, so...)And I enjoyed George as the investigative sponge! Will come back with more when I do get around to rewatching... __________________ Why should I be afraid to die? Heh heh...Oh how I love George. This was a very good episode. It's great to see Addison play a little of the villianess here. She was just so awesome at the beginning of this episode. __________________ "When I die . . . may there be friends who will grieve for me, who will carry our shared joys and pains, who will carry my memory."--Drizzt Do'Urden | |||

| The good old Greys! The best Greys moments were back in the 1-2 season! Looking at Addison in this episode, she seems different. I dont like her when she is with Derek. Once they got divorced she became funny and layed-back. I like her in the third season. ![]() This is going to be a long break, but I am so glad I have you guys! ![]() __________________ Nicole! ♥mer.der♥ avi by ? | See, I liked her with more of the edge she had when she first came on the show. Some people thought she was a bitch, but I thought she was just very... New York. And I always thought she was funny. She seemed a lot more confident in season two then she did later on. I didn't like her with Derek either, mainly because of his treatment of her and the fact that, even though I'm not a MerDer fan, I thought he had much more chemistry with Meredith than with Addie. Though they certainly had their moments where you could see the love that was between them too, little glimpses of what it was probably like when they were dating and in the first few years of their marriage. Of course, I'm one of those who would rather both women be with someone other than Derek. By late season two I agreed with whatever article it was that said Derek was getting so ridiculous that Meredith and Addison should just both dump him... for each other. No, seriously though...imagine the look on his face walking in on that! Would've been an amusing dream-sequence... Oh the possibilities... Seriously though, how bad did you feel for Meredith in this episode? I mean, as many will agree, the miserable Mer got old in season two, but here, in the beginning, I really felt for her. She thinks she's finally found the fairy tale and then Addison has to show up, "all leggy and fabulous", and shatter her dreams... not to mention the fact that the Dreamy Guy also had been lying for two months. It's really impressive (or maybe sad is the right word--she should've made him work a little harder, imo) that she ends up forgiving him as quickly as she does, if you ask me. Ok, the first little paragraph was all I intended to say when I started typing...if only I could show such devotion to my term papers... ![]() __________________ Why should I be afraid to die? Well said...that really would've been priceless...after all, Addie and Mere definitely had some great moments...even with the Derek drama the two of them shared. It could've been interesting...![]() Quote:

| what's with the Forbes Montgomery in Addison's name? I'm new to the show and didn't know if that was ever addressed. | |||

| Yeah, Montgomery is obviously a maiden name. The Forbes part kind of threw me too, since it's not hyphenated or anything with Montgomery I was confused if it was a maiden or middle name. But it would be a very odd middle name, especially for a girl. Although, Addison is technically a male name. As is Meredith, in origin, actually... *claps hand over mouth to prevent unnecessary, and likely uninteresting, tangent* So, in short, I think Forbes is just part of her maiden name. I'm sure you'll learn a bit more about where Addie comes from, and her family, if you tune into Private Practice next fall. __________________ Why should I be afraid to die? I belong to you.
