- Meredith: Dr. Shepherd.
- Derek: Dr. Shepherd? This morning I was Derek, now it's Dr. Shepherd.
- Meredith: Dr. Shepherd we should pretend it never happened.
- Derek: What never happened? You sleeping with me last night? Or you throwing me out this morning? Because both are fond memories I'd like to hang on to.
- Meredith: No, there will be no more memories. I'm not the girl in the bar anymore and you're not the guy. This can't exist. You get that right?
- Derek: You took advantage of me and now you want to forget it?
- Meredith: I did not take--
- Derek: I was drunk, vulnerable and good looking and you took advantage.
- Meredith: Okay, I was the one who was drunk and you are NOT that good looking.
- Derek: Maybe not today, but last night I was very good looking. I had on my red shirt, my good looking shirt and you took advantage.

- Derek: Seattle has ferryboats.
- Meredith: Yes.
- Derek: I've been living here for six weeks, I didn't know there were ferryboats.
- Meredith: Seattle is surrounded by water on three sides.
- Derek: Hence the ferryboats. [They both step onto the elevator.] Now I'm going to have to like it here. I wasn't planning on liking it here. I'm from New York. I'm generically engineered to dislike everywhere, except Manhatten. I have a thing for ferryboats.
- Meredith: [pause] I'm not going out with you.
- Derek: Did I ask you to go out with me? [turns to look at Meredith then turns back forward.] Do you want to go out with me?
- Meredith: I'm not dating you, and I'm definiatly not sleeping with you again, you're my boss.
- Derek: I'm your boss's boss.
- Meredith: Your my teacher! And your my teacher's teacher, and you're my teacher.
- Derek: I'm your sister, I'm your daughter.
- Meredith: You're sexually harassing me.
- Derek: I'm riding an elevator.
- Meredith: Look I’m drawing a line. The line is drawn. There’s a big line.
- Derek: So this line is it imaginary or do I need to get you a marker?


103 ~ Winning a Battle, Losing the War
- Derek: You and me. It is not the thrill of the chase. It's not a game. It's...it's your tiny ineffectual fists. And your hair.
- Meredith: My hair?
- Derek: It smells good. And you're very, very ballsy. Keeps me in line.

- Meredith: So just for the record, you’d tell me if I need to get tested, right?
- Derek: You think I have syphilis?
- Meredith: No. I mean we never made any rules or anything…we never said we had rules and I wouldn’t hold it against you.
- Derek: When would I have time to go out and get syphilis? You’re a handful enough as it is. And besides we’re practically a condom ad.
- Meredith: But no more glow-in-the-dark ones.
- Derek: You see? There’s nothing to worry about. Maybe we should make some rules.
- Meredith: We should.
Derek: Okay.
- Meredith: Okay.
- Derek: Just for the record…I like the glow-in-the-dark ones.
- Meredith (laughs): I bet you do.


205 ~ Bring the Pain
- Meredith: OK, Here it is. Your choice, it's simple. Her or me. And I'm sure she's really great. But Derek...I love you. In a really, really big...pretend to like your taste in music... let you eat the last piece of cheesecake... hold a radio over my head outside your bedroom window... unfortunate way that makes me hate you...love you. 212 ~ Grandma Got Runover By A Reindeer
- Derek (to Addison): Christmas makes you want to be with people you love. I'm not saying this to hurt you or because I want to leave you, because I don't. Meredith wasn't a fling. She wasn't revenge. I fell in love with her. That doesn't go away because I decided to stay with you.


216 ~ It's the End of the World
- Meredith to Cristina: OK. The man I love has a wife and then he chooses her over me. And that wife takes my dog—OK, she didn't take the dog, I gave it to her, but I didn't mean to give it to her, I meant to give it to him—but that does not change the fact that she's got my McDreamy. And my McDog. She's got my McLife! And what have I got? You know, I can't remember the last time we kissed. 'Cause you never think the last time is the last time, you think there'll be more. You think you have forever, but you don't. Plus my conditioner decided to stop working and I think I have brittle bones. I just-I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are gonna change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed and feel like I might die today.


217 ~ As We Know It...
- Meredith: Yeah, I almost died today. ... I can't, I can't remember our last kiss. All I could think about was "I'm going to die today" and I can't remember our last kiss. Which, is pathetic but the last time we were together and happy, I... want to be able remember that, and I can't Derek. I can't remember.
- Derek: I'm glad you didn't die today. [starts to leave but stops] It was a Thursday morning, you were wearing that ratty little 'Dartmouth' T-shirt you look so good in, the one with the hole at the back of the neck. You'd just washed you hair and you smelled like some kind of...flower. I was running late for surgery, you said you were going to see me later, and you lean to me, put your hand on my chest and you kissed me. Soft. It was quick. Kinda like a habit. You know, like we'd do it everyday for the rest of our lives. And you went back reading the newspaper and I went to work. That was the last time we kissed.


225 ~ 17 Seconds
- Addison: I can't compete. He's not having an affair. He's not trying to hurt me. He's just... [Sighs]. The only people who don't know that Derek loves Meredith are Derek and Meredith. How do I compete with that?


227 ~ Losing my Religion
- Meredith: No! I'm not alright? Okay? Are you satisfied? I'm not alright. Because you have a wife, and you call me a whore, and our dog died, and now you're looking at me. Stop looking at me.
- Derek: I am not looking at you. I am not looking at you.
- Meredith: You are looking at me. And you watch me. And Finn has plans. And I like Finn. He's perfect for me, and I'm really trying here to be happy, and I can't breathe. I can't breathe with you looking at me like that so just stop!
- Derek: Do you think I want to look at you? That I wouldn't rather be looking at my wife? I'm married. I have responsibilities. She, she doesn't drive me crazy. She doesn't make it impossible for me to feel normal. She doesn't make me sick to my stomach thinking about my veterinarian touching her with his hands. Man, I would give anything not to be looking at you.

- Derek : I’m in love with you. I’ve been in love you with you forever. I’m a little late- I know I’m a little late in telling you that. I just, I just want you take your time. Take all the time you need because you have a choice to make. And when I had a choice to make…I chose wrong.

The good, the bad, wife. You didn't even know my name. You didn't know me. I want you to know me. I want to start over from the beginning. So, hi. Derek Shepherd.
- Meredith: You walked away, and now it's too late. There's too much water under the thing or whatever-
- Derek: [interupting] Meredith. Please.

- Meredith: I know I haven´t been myself lately, but I´m me again, so I was thinking maybe you should sleep over because the me that I am is horny for the you that you are.
