I think it's possible to look back on their story with fondness.I watched some season 1 clips a few weeks back and smiled. I actually forgot Derek was dead in those seasons. I think with time it will be possible to separate the show from your own perception of how it should have ended.

I guess with time that will be possible. I read fanfics and I am able to shut down what happened on the show most times so hopefully, in the right time, looking back wont be as devastating as it is still now...

It's easy to separate fanfic/earlier seasons from the horrendous way it ended because nothing makes sense about season 11. Maybe it's good that the writing was illogical, so we are able to separate it. Really, there is no definite 'endpoint' and we never got definite closure. What's happening now feels AU, like a bad nightmare. I think 10.4 is a good series finale, though, for MerDer. I do like the DC storyline, but not how it turned out obviously. There was so much potential, which is why I explore it in fics.

I've been rewatching. I've found it very therapeutic.

I do agree, that they're different shows.. s1/s11.
In one of the interviews Shonda said the "ultimate ending" for Grey's happened seasons ago. I say it was the amazing season 4 finale. |

Shonda is talking all about MerDer and their love how she needed that to remain pure, still don't understand why the labrat happened and why they needed an episode to explain that especially when nothing happened after it didn't excuse the crap of episode 21 and the ****ty writing, the disrespect to the character and the couple and their fans. It didn't explain the aftermath or the lack of it.. especially for Meredith, we saw glimpses and shots of her. Hell, even the voicemail it was an Amelia scene, when she had NOTHING to do with it, or her name mentioned. It was all about Derek and his love for Meredith and their kids.

She's saying the same stuff she said about Slexie.
Total BS. She doesn't get that it's not that he died, though. It's HOW. It'll always be HOW. |
