I think Meredith and the kids stay in Seattle, Derek end up going to DC at least for some time..

The thought crossed my mind, admittedly. I guess they'll cross that bridge when it arises. I don't see Derek wanting to leave his kids in Seattle easily.

That's still a lot of flying, and the three hour time difference is enough to mess with anyone's head, especially on a weekly basis.

Though it's something Patrick's certainly used to doing, since he flies all over the world all the time, so it's not like he'd be too hard for him to portray. I'd think it'd be exhausting.

It will be exhausting for sure flying back and forth.. like it was in the last couple episodes of the season..

That will be have the case and i think that is primarily why he just wants his family with him cause the traveling is tiring
