Sorry for bringing this back up but it wasn't closed so I figured it was ok... I'm just very confused after watching this episode just now... did the bomb in fact go off? Because I saw on IMDb that the actor playing Dylan is returning, and I think if he was standing so close to the bomb he would've died for sure. Also, it showed who I think was Dr. Bailey lying unconcious on the floor, and as we've seen seconds later she was alright. So... what was that?!

The bomb did go off and he died. However in season 3 he was back in the afterlife along with Denny when Meredith flatlined. It was during the Ferryboat accident eppies.

That was meredith
Because when the bomb guy walked out of the OR, Meredith followed him, I think they said to thank him in the audio commentary, and that's when it blew up.__________________
