Ellen Pompeo made her major studio screen debut in Brad Silberling's Moonlight Mile, starring alongside Susan Sarandon, Dustin Hoffman and Jake Gyllenhaal. She received outstanding reviews for her portrayal of an outspoken young woman carrying a silent burden that's breaking her heart. A native of Boston, Pompeo was most recently seen starring opposite Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell in the wildly successful Old School and, before that, in Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. Prior to Moonlight Mile, Pompeo starred in several independent features, including In the Weeds and Coming Soon, and she can also be seen in the upcoming Glory Days.

Right now she's starring in the hit series 'Grey's Anatomy' as Dr. Meredith Grey.

hey, im mel. can i be added to the list please...i love ellen and mer is my favourite character on the show...actually shes my favourite tv character all together...other characters on tv shows cant compare to her....

anyway, i had a friend who was going through a bad time and she sent me a text msg about whats going on with her but what she wrote i felt was sort of a description of meredith....this is what she wrote:
behind the face of that girl and her beautiful smile is a broken soul from a broken home. things never seem right, thoughts build up in her mind and she just wishes everything would stop, start over and be right. She thinks things people shouldn't think and things that sometimes dont make sense. Songs remind her of a past she wishes to forget, people she never should of met and the person she wished she never became.
