Yeah. I happen to know a lot of Gizzie fans and converts out there. I'm sure the outcome would have been different if the people in all the boards I visit knew about it.

Almost 100% of the answers it's what I think. I just disagree about not liking or not interested about Lexie. I really hope her to be a good sister to mer.
I think fan forums users (and I'm saying only about FanForum, but any kind of community) is a little, very little part of the audience and their opinion may not reflect what most part of people think.
All my friends DISLIKE all this Gizzie thing, but just 3 or 4 of us use to go to communities discuss it. Some of them sometimes look at ABC website and some of them just get together to see GA. It's our sacred meeting on Thursdays.
I think this Touchstone Poll reflect better the audience than fan communities once there is more diversity attending.

Well, if we think about the bigger picture, it would still not reflect the views of Grey's audience as a whole. I mean, it has about 20 million viewers each week. People who participate in polls and post in forums make up just a tiny, tiny percentage of the total audience so any way you look at it, we really couldn't tell what the majority thinks.

But we don't know anything about the diversity of people who have answered that poll, so how can we know if the answers are accurate? For all we know, someone could have found the link and shared it on a MerDer board. Would that not skew the results towards MerDer in a way that may not be reflective of the whole?

I guess my point is, there are always surprises out there, and our individual experiences online or with our friends and family do not represent what 20 million viewers think, and one poll cannot possibly tell us that. You would think George/Izzie is not popular according to that poll, but here on Fan Forum, where we have threads for every pairing, G/I is pretty popular, and on LiveJournal, where there are communities for every pairing, G/I is the largest by far, much bigger than even the MerDer one. Can we draw conclusions about the overall popularity of G/I based on those communities? Probably not, I would certainly hesitate to do so. But does that mean the size of those communities are meaningless? No way.

I definitely agree with you about Lexie, however. I like her and I am hopeful she'll be family for Meredith eventually.

LOL, well all my friends, who never post on the Internet at all love Gizzie, they pretty much just for them, not to mention my mom, my brother, my boyfriend, my aunt and her best friend. And most of them don't care about MerDer, I even had some friends qit the show as they were tired of all their drama.

Given that it seems less than a 100 people answered this, I wouldn't say it is that representative.

Cristina, George and Izzie all have a lot of fans, but if you looked at that poll, you'd think everyone watched for Meredith when a lot of people hate her.

The one thing I do agree with in this poll is I want MerDer happy, they are my second favorite couple and Mer is y favorite female character, so I want her to be happy.

Seriously, the fact that my friends love Gizzie doesn't mean everyone loves them and the fact your friends doesn't doesn't mean they are not popular. There are 20 millions people who watch that show. Most of them we don't know and will never post on the Internet.

That doesn't mean those Internet communities have no importance as people who ake the time to make a fan thread about a couple, MerDer and Gizzie have the two biggest threads here, mean they care enough to take the time to write about them and show their love, but they and surveys don't represent what people really think.

What I meant is: nothing in internet may reflect the truth, but polls is easier to any person looking, answer, but YES, it's also a tiny part of audience.
I always felt like just me and my part dislike Gizzie, exactly because I don't know other people crazy about the show as us and in the fans communities people want them so hard. This poll showed us we are not the only ones, or maybe we are not like that minority of 1%, lol.

Yeah, I totally get that, the whole cheating storyline is maybe the worst one Grey's has done IMHO. I'm hoping for a speedy conclusion to it come season four (obviously in favour of G/I as I ship them, but even if not, I still want it concluded so everyone involved can move on and find some happiness, somewhere).

I had a summer wedding, it was great, I could do it outside and wear the dress I wanted.

YAY!!!! I really hope EP, PD and SO to be nominated, they really deserved for everything they did on S3. Maybe this is the only thing good in S3: with all this drama and pain, actors had a chance to act very well.
They deserve to be nominated as I don't know who more would be, I can't say they should win, but I hope they to be nominated and win, lol
