Meredith & Derek are just one of those fictional television couples that have my heart. I will always root for them and want them to be together and you can credit Patrick Dempsey & Ellen Pompeo for that. They have such a rare and beautiful chemistry. It’s powerful, emotional, sexy, flirty, funny, and oh so real. When those two are in scenes together as MD you feel what their characters are feeling whether that be love, anger, confusion, compassion, jealousy, etc.

I was hooked on Meredith & Derek from the very beginning. I loved their dynamic as the main couple because with them it was never a question of “will they or won’t they?” because they already did! They started off as a ONS and both of them never realized what fate had in store for them that night. Their eyes met at the hospital on Meredith’s first day at work, and after their first surgery together they both knew this was something special. They had found “the one”, the “love of their life”, their, “soulmate”. No one that has come before and no one that came since will ever compare to this captivating couple.

I also find the dynamic between Meredith & Derek to be wonderful. Meredith never knew love before she met Derek. Not only had she never been in a relationship but she had never even slept with the same man twice. Derek was quite the opposite in the fact he had been married to the same woman Addison for 11 years. Meredith had been the wild, partying, drinking tequila, ONS kind of girl back home in Boston. Derek was an up-tight, private practice, suit-wearing, one-surgery doctor back in Manhattan. Then it’s like when they came to Seattle they found “home” not only professionally but in each other. Meredith & Derek are LOVE!
