They really put their blooming romance on hold it seems. This is so typical for Shonda. Creating a promising storyline just to end it before it can even thrive.

I think Shonda is afraid the show will not last without Derek and is now trying to write to appeal to the general audience. So she writes more Meredith and Alex scenes because they were there from the beginning, and neglects everything else.

No they are not. And I'm a viewer from the beginning. I really liked their friendship over the seasons, but enough is enough. At least for me. And Mer had feelings for Riggs. For me they have the romantic chemistry I miss when I see Mer/Alex in scenes together.

To find another love doesn't mean she wants to replace Derek. They had a special relationship. No one can deny that. She will never forget him. But he is dead how long? 2-3 years? She needs to move on. Why not with Riggs? I don't believe either that the majority of viewers want to see her alone, or with Alex.

So I must also say that I as Merthan fan is greatly disappointed by Shonda, as far as Merthan is concerned. But my saying is always, one should never give up hope. The 13 season is still 13 episodes, there can still be a lot happening at Merthan and it will also find, since Maggie, with Meredith and Nathan. It will be exciting.

I don't trust Shonda, and from experience I know that she changes her mind about a couple when it doesn't suit her plans. And I think her plans for Meredith are other ideas for now. Let's hope she will pick up on their storyline later.

And I think that we should not give up the hope so quickly, as there is always hope. I trust that we will still get our Merthan scenes and that they will be a couple , because I think it is more likely that Alex will be Justin at the end of the 13 Season.
