Callie kind of came out of nowhere. She was the bone breaker chick and then she's George's girlfriend....not like there was a lot of time to know her

Yeah, I didn't take to her either tbh, she as just forced into being George's love interest way too fast, that you don't really get to know her as a character, which makes it hard for me too root for them I really like her in later seasons though.

it seems more that Callie was thrown in there to get George's attraction to Meredith out of the way in a realistic story.

Yeah, I think she was used to get George to speed up getting over Meredith.

I'm glad. I felt for George pining over Meredith and then them sleeping together only to have his ego bruised

Yeah, that scene with him & Meredith was just humiliating, it's awkward to watch

But I never really thought that George's feelings for Callie were all that genuine

I don't even know why they went there with that only to have Meredith cry in the middle and have George humiliated. I mean George really thought something would happen and they would have a intimate moment. But no, it was far from that

I suppose it was to shut down George/Meredith for good, which it most certainly did. George knew there was no chance after that.

but why not have this moment where they were going out, George thinking it was a real date. That would've been a lot less humiliating

Hmm, idk, maybe they wanted to trigger a bigger change in George & it also had an affect on Meredith too, that's when she decided to stop sleeping with inappropriate people.
