thanks for the thread.
severide and casey don't see eye to eye on the best course of action? again? seriously? that never happened before casey made captain. they argued a lot about other things, but never about how to do their jobs. hope this isn't going to become a habit. |

No problem.
It makes sense that it would come up now because Casey now outranks Severide. When they were equal, it seemed to be just understood that they would go with Severide's call because he had the extra training, now it's not so simple. I also wonder if a part of this is Casey being annoyed at him over the Gabby stuff, which I really don't agree with because Severide didn't do anything wrong there. I hope it doesn't happen too much, will get annoying fast. |

As a captain, responsibility for decisions now falls to Casey, whereas it didn't before. If something goes wrong it's on him now, so it makes sense that he would want it to actually be his choice.

i totally understand that.
it is just that severide knows his job and hadn't done any wrong decisions yet- at least none that we know of - so why overrule him "constantly"? |

Probably because the job is new. He has to settle into it and get used to the responsibility and the fact that he is the one ultimately that will be penalised now if something goes wrong. Hopefully once he's adjusted to the role things will go back to normal.

I know they'll both be fine but that's where they left it? Whyyyy?!
Hopefully that will be the end of the Casey/Severide rank conflict. It makes sense that it would come up and that Casey would want the decisions to be his if he's ultimately responsible for them, but he knows Severide and has been shown now to trust his judgement. It did seem that he had come to that conclusion at the end when he told Severide to take the lead. Nice to see Dawson and Casey on the same page again. They really need to keep it that way now because the communication issues story is repetitive. Stella lying to Zach isn't a great start to a relationship, but I guess it makes sense considering she's not really fully in it, though. I'm glad they showed that she does actually care about him, would be pretty awful of her if she didn't. Brett and Mouch's spa day. Brilliant. I'm glad Cruz decided not to go. Sylvie doesn't feel the same way (I'm glad that's been verbally acknowledged), it was for the best. Annabelle was gold. Even moreso when she was with Trudy. Also Mouch's response when Trudy showed up "What did I do?" was brilliant. |

I couldn't believe they ended the episode right there. Derek Haas' tweet about the ending being a real "cliffhanger" made sense.
I know it supposed to be a drama, but I get tired of all the conflict sometimes. I liked the Annabelle coming to the firehouse, but Hermann didn't show her anything. She was great with Trudy. It always amazes me how great Trudy is with kids. I don't see Zach being around too much longer. I couldn't believe Cruz just about invited himself to the spa with Brett. But I when Mouch showed up. I am glad that she just sees him as friend. I didn't want to see them go down that road again. __________________

2. me too. 3. in support of hermann i have to say that annabelle wasn't very cooperative. looks like she didn't want to be there in the first place. 4. i hope so 5. don't think they are getting together again. at first i thought there might be something going on secretly - just because they are solo at the moment, but now i don't think brett would do something like that - just because of the was she is reacting to cruz. and i don't think we need something like that again. |

Yeah, I thought it was pretty obvious they weren't going to go there again.
