Dr. Rhodes and Ava continue to compete in the operating room, while Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese are surprised when they treat a man who has a peculiar theory about his sickness. Dr. Manning and Dr. Choi can't figure out what is wrong with a young girl, leading them to look to a questionable source for answers.

09/21/2016 (10:00PM - 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : THE AFTERMATH OF JUSTIN'S DEATH HANGS HEAVY OVER VOIGHT AND LINDSAY AS INTELLIGENCE INVESTIGATES A MURDER-ARSON CASE. - Intelligence investigates a gruesome case. Upon further examination, it appears the victim was wearing a CPD-issued wire at the time of his death. Meanwhile, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) meets her new partner, Julie Tay (guest star Li Jun Li), who came from one of the worst assignments in the city. Together they respond to their first call, and Tay shares details of her past. Additionally, Commander Crowley (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) confronts Lindsay (Sophia Bush) about why she and Voight (Jason Beghe) were at that location on the night that Intelligence pursued Justin's killer. Also starring Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, LaRoyce Hawkins and Amy Morton. Guest starring Jesse Spencer, Philip Winchester, Marlyne Barrett and Samuel Hunt.

Something you’ll learn about a character is … Lindsay’s long-lost father isn’t so long lost after all.

The strangest research we’ve done for an episode is … how a criminal would burn a body and car very quickly. Luckily, all we had to do was call Steve Chikerotis, technical adviser and former Chicago Fire Department chief for the answer.

One thing you’ll see on this show that you probably won’t see on the others is … the head of the unit being suspected of killing his son’s murderer. Strongly suspected.

There is conflict within the case as Intelligence learns that Olinsky (Elias Koteas) and McCoy are friends, and McCoy admits that he was helping Maya and other girls try to escape the sex trade. I hope Tay doesn't leave. She appeared in the Fire premier as Kim's partner and I think she will be in tonight's episode as well. I don't know why they would take her out of the mix already, especially since she seems to work well with her partner. :shrug:

Ugh. I was really hoping that Kim wouldn't be transferred to Intelligence.

While I don't want to lose the Burgess/Tay partnership, I understand why moving Kim to Intelligence makes sense. It's always been her goal so the writers may actually not drop a SL. :lol:
