I'm worried they won't be able to pull the show back from this. Not just regarding Gabby, but the whole mess of pointless drama with everyone that seems to have been the entire finale.

In my experience, when shows descend into pointless drama, they rarely manage to pull it back. That's why I rarely watch seventh seasons outside of crime shows and comedies, because that always seems to be the point when it happens. CF was meant to be an exception, I'm annoyed.

It does. I hate doubting that they can pull this back, I want to believe it'll be great but it feels like they've essentially all but ruled that out right now.
