I've been wanting to say something, all day yesterday, all day today... and then I received this artwork from Chicago Med and was reminded that it's Thursday.! It made me grateful for the privilege of doing work that connects people, across lines of gender, age, race, class, sexual orientation, religion or political views. Art is truly powerful. It heals. It can momentarily take our minds off of our own realities, while simultaneously shedding a light on our own humanity and the humanity of others.
People behind social media accounts are real people. They are our neighbors just as much as the people we live next door to. Please be kind to each other in this time of dissonance. May we all find common ground and be pleasantly surprised by the power of our compassion. No matter who you voted for, "Its not the ship that makes the waves. It's the motion of the ocean." It's US.
