thanks for the thread.
description sounds interesting, the promo not so: looks like it is back - the drama around casey and dawson... |

I'm hoping it'll be like last weeks, a promo that is solely dawsey drama, and then that drama consisting of literally just the scenes in the promo. I really don't understand their promo department, relationship drama is not how you sell an episode. I went into last weeks with the lowest expectations because of the promo and it was a pretty good episode.

The drama really needs to be limited to their jobs most of the time, tbh.

Another solid episode that they promoted poorly.
That save at the beginning was pretty great. There was absolutely no valid reason for new guy to follow Stella into the pool, though, other than possibly trying to get glory for someone else's save or maybe just copying her because he doesn't know what he's doing... Great to see Otis back in the firehouse, and I'm glad he figured out what that boy's parents were up to. Still kind of horrified that they left a small child alone at the pool, tbh. Stella trying to make a good impression on Severide's mother was a fun side story, can't wait to see what more her being around brings. It's nice to see Gabby starting to communicate, but I wish they would address the reasons she struggles with it instead of just saying she does and then ignoring it for the next couple of episodes. She's been through so much that it makes sense, but they're not really addressing it unless they bring up why. |

I was glad too when Otis figured out the parents were running a scam. Leaving their child alone like that, I was like what is wrong them?!
Loved the scenes with Stella and Severide's mom! I wish they would address that too!! it's so frustrating.... __________________

That was negligent to an extreme. Should have been reported.
Really love that she seems to be sticking around. She's fun It really is. Between Shay, the baby, Louie and almost losing Matt last season, it makes sense that she would struggle with communication, but having the constant issues without addressing the reasons is kind of ridiculous. |

glad there wasn't that much drama around gabby and casey.
and this time i think casey overreacted. i mean they had an affair before casey and gabby even knew each other. it wouldn't be a priority to me to tell my husband that there has been something going on about 10 years ago or so. glad that otis was back and that he found out what the couple was up to. wondering what the boy did there on his own as well. think there should be an aftermath. nice story around the severide family and stella. looks like kelly really loves his mom, but she seemed a little weird to me. not sure it is a good thing that they are getting back together and the way severide looked at his mom after she told him i think he is far from loving it. |

Yeah, it was a bit of an overreaction. There wasn't really any reason to tell him until she found out this guy was going to be around a while (unless he had started hassling her or something, which, as gross as he is, he didn't), and seeing as he told her at the start of the episode that the guy was on his way out, he kind of took away the need to say something. Why bring it up if the guy isn't sticking around?
There needs to be a follow up with that boy. It was neglect. Didn't she have a breakdown or something when she first broke up with Benny that resulted in Severide living with April? |

Can understand why he wouldn't be happy about it.
