Like you said it would be different if Logan started a conversation about how they first met so he could hope that Lucy would ask them the same question..
Logan just didn't want to be a part of the lie.. I think that's noble.

noble is a good word to describe what logan did. it was pretty juvenile for both rory and marty to keep the lie going for so long, i'm not sure what they were hiding exactly, except for marty being afraid that lucy will find out that he has feelings for rory or something.
the first scene, in the canteen, was super cute! logan was so funny

I'm not sure why Marty acted that way.. Perhaps afraid that Rory would tell Lucy and Olivia that Marty had a crush on her two years earlier?

IT's a bit similar to the situation between Lorelai/Luke/Rory at the beginning of season 6as Luke told Rory about the engagement.

I think Logan was also in the middle and knew that he shouldn't have told her but just couldn't ignore it. Like Luke in 6.02

I never thought about that, but I guess it's true.. Both Lorelai and Rory thought that Luke/Logan weren't in the right position to tell the other..
