thanks guys

she always got on my nerves but also continues to do so.. I know she's sick and starts treatment next week but seriously some people change when they're sick.. time for her to start changing!

She's becoming fifty this year and wants to celebrate but called tonight to give a date..
(bonus info, boyfriend and her had no contact since this past summer until she got the news of her sickness, so there was no real resolve between them)
anyhow.. she gave a date, but I already got my summer work schedule early so they had that done at work.. But for the months of july, august and september you could only ask for days off for your summer vacaction, birthdays etc could not be reported, so you have to swap shifts if you want to go to a birthday
Of course the weekend she wants to do her birthday for the entire weekend I have to work.. Its summer period so half of the team is on holiday.. but before boyfriend could explain that its not in my power and definitely not in his to change that right now and that I can't ask for days off, swapping shifts is the only option.. well she got furious.. saying all kinds of things, throwing her sickness into the mix but also saying 'maybe you should start thinking about important things, this is my fiftieth birthday and maybe you should start thinking about your little girlfriend'

We didn't even get to the point of saying that I'll try to swap shifts if possible (It is summer period after all and not everyone is able to work for me) or that boyfriend will otherwise come by himself.
Boyfriend said that in the 2nd call he made (after clicking her away earlier).. and she still got made.. enter the 2nd time he ended the call..

I'm sorry about your MIL, Karen. Unfortunately some people don't ever change I don't think. Got some sad news today about somebody I used to be close to. Something that could have been prevented and wasn't because of stubbornness.

I hope things work out differently for you, though.

Oh boy Karen I am really sorry. Could thing I don't have to deal with her, not if that would end well the temper I have

And yes you might think people change with a sickness like that, but in reality most of them never do

problem is she always has issues with EVERYONE! if its not with 1 person it will be with another...

she just has a major temper that she won't bother to listen to anything else that is said, always leading to half stories being told..

Seriously all the things she has done in the past 2,5 years, not only to us but also to other relatives, already make me think very low of her, and I doubt that will change.
it's just the nerve of her saying that about me, of 'maybe you should think of your little girlfriend' that got me all riled up.. Seriously, it's better for her that she didn't have me on the phone
But she knows that boyfriend and I had a rough patch and the nerve to say that..

Because of my current situation at home I am already having a hard time managing to stay in control and not put that jerk of brother in the hospital so I would definitely not able to deal with a woman like that

I'm really lucky to have my family. Sometimes I forget other people aren't so lucky. Good luck to both of you. I doubt they let you on the internet in prison.

Yeah you should feel lucky, It wasn't always like that hear though, changed 2 years ago. A lot can happen if you get together with the wrong crowd and drugs. It changes people, you make mistakes you will never be able to repay, you start to lie and steal, and then you can't get out of the situation anymore.

I hate, that I hate my brother in every way possible, but sadly I can't change how I feel. Too much has happened
