I found user reviews to Third

Quote:
We saw the first preview and were very impressed with the acting and the plot line. This is definitely a worthwhile play to see.
Quote:
Very good show. Excellent cast, casting and performances.
Interesting perspectives from different generational characters in the story.
Quote:
I absolutely loved the play. It was powerful, topical with many humorous lines. The performances of each character were excellent. I would highly recommend it to friends.
Well and one negative specific Matt review.

Quote:
It was a preview performance so was a little rocky at times. The young man playing Third was a little too mannered and repetitive in his gestures, but the play was written beautifully and Christine Lahti is marvellous in it. I will recommend it to my friends.
But it's just one opinion and the rest said the cast was great. And it was the first night it doesn't have to mean anything .

That's just one man's opinion and Matt is new to all of this so I'm sure he has to find his way in it.

and there's always a director... I'm sure he's done the gestures during rehearsels as well, if it should be toned by, then I assume that the director would have told him so before..

Great reviews though! At least something

And he has still a few weeks until the premiere enough time to learn and to make some thing different or better.

I'm sure it was hard to find.. I've searched all day for something, I even used 'Christine Lahti' in the search box but that was no help either

Definitely! I'm sure the first few performances are to see how the audience responds to it..

At least most of the reviews are good! and Matt is showing off his hands, which I assume he means by gestures.. Well that is Matt, he likes using his hands

i just stumbled upon that review as well. i also stumbled upon some info i found amusing while digging up some articles and reviews on the play when it was in ny. apparently, jason ritter, son of the late john ritter originated the role when it was in lincoln center, was also in hack. now i never saw the show, but matt was in it as well. whether or not they were on the show together, well i guess someone who's actually watched the show would know that. lols. also, i believe i read that the character that matt portrays, is graduate of groton, a private new england boarding school, which was also mentioned in gilmore girls when christopher and logan formally meet and they bond over boarding schools.

ahahha. you guys probably don't find it amusing, but i do. it takes very little for things to stand out to me. i blame it on lack of things going on in my life. ahha

i'm definitely intrigued by the play. too bad i missed it while it was closer to me. but i was planning to take a trip to the west coast since i have an already paid for plane ticket, and i'm thinking of relocating so i'm scoping out some places. and i've already considered revisiting cali. it would be great if i just happen to schedule my trip around the same time the play is running. what would be greater is if they decided to bring the play back to new york, while bringing matt with them.

Jason Ritter only did 1 ep, which was during S1, and Matt was on the show during S2.

That's a cute fact

That would be great for you (but also slim I think )
I hope you'll get the chance to see it Erin during the month that it is playing.

thanks for that info on hack, mariana.

and yes, i know bringing the play back to new york IS a slim chance. it would actually be quite a negative for me, knowing that its rather easy, to put it lightly, to "stalk" broadway people. nothing serious, just casually trailing after a celeb or two after meeting them.

i can't wait to hear a review from someone who's seen matt's other work. i bet you we'll hear something from that entertainment reporter dude that's from where matt's from. terry? or jerry?

ok my fangirl-ness is totally kicking in, but i'm tempted to send a card or something to the playhouse to matt telling him to break a leg. HAHAHAHAHAH

It's still early in the play's run... It's just a preview. Matt -- and the rest of the cast -- still has plenty of opportunities to improve and figure out what works and what doesn't. It seems like the reviews are great overall, so congrats to Matt and the rest of the Third cast! I can't wait to see it.
