You are totally right, Roxy ... I loved about him that he saw this show not only as a working project ...

alexis interview with tvguide to promote i'm reed fish. briefly talks about the rory/logan relationship..

Quote:
TVGuide.com: How do you feel about Logan (Matt Czuchry) and Rory's breakup and how the series ended in general?
Alexis Bledel: I guess it's not what people might have expected as far as their relationship goes, but it's something that happens to a lot of people when they graduate from school and go off to start their lives elsewhere. I think it's a make-or-break [time] for a lot of relationships. I felt pretty strongly that I wanted my character to finish up somewhere that we would have liked to see her finish when the whole story started, because she was so driven and academic and I wanted to return to that in some ways. She did get pretty caught up in [the] relationship — in her relationships with guys in general, not that that's a bad thing — but it seemed to end on a strong note. She made a choice that was very true to herself.

TVGuide.com: Did you feel the job she got was sudden?
Bledel: Well, they needed something. She needed to get some kind of job, and I like that she didn't get hired for something right away. I hope it's not too auspicious a job for her to get right off the bat, but I guess she did have somebody she knew who hooked her up. Hopefully that makes a little bit of sense. But yeah, they needed for her to go off into the world in some way or another. I like that it was for Barack Obama's campaign.

TVGuide.com: Do you think 13 more episodes could have resolved the story lines any better?
Bledel: It was an organic ending for Rory to graduate from college, because it all started with trying to get her into prep school and figuring out how to pay for it because she had so much potential. For it to end this way felt good to me, because I think we would have been trying to come up with things if we had done more [episodes].

TVGuide.com: And you would have entered this whole other post-college territory.
Bledel: Yeah, and the relationship between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) had been played out and needed [to be resolved] in some direction. Where it left off — kind of hopeful — I like that, too, because she has entertained all the possibilities with Rory's dad.

TVGuide.com: Yeah, it just lets fans fantasize.
Bledel: Right.

TVGuide.com: What will you miss most about playing Rory? The fast talking?
Bledel: [Laughs] No. I was certainly lucky to play a teenage character that was so academic and intelligent and unique from a lot of other characters on television, as far as teenagers go, but I'll be happy to play adults. If I don't get to play characters as unique as she is, then I'd miss that.

TVGuide.com: Is it important to you to break away from being known as Rory?
Bledel: I don't know how much it's possible to completely get away from it. I'm looking forward to playing different characters and seeing how far I can stretch, but I don't know that it's a good idea to do something just because it's different. I'm more concerned that the projects I'm involved with are strong material.

TVGuide.com: I watched I'm Reed Fish and it's really simple with this big message behind it. Why did you want to be in the film?
Bledel: It felt a little different from a lot of things I read, because it's a movie within a movie and I like the trick that happens in the middle that I don't really want to give away. The small town felt, in a way, like Stars Hollow; it's a very strong setting for a story to take place in. It's all-inclusive — it's a tiny little town and has all these unique characters.

TVGuide.com: And everybody knows everybody.
Bledel: And everybody knows everybody. That's why I liked it.

TVGuide.com: The movie-within-a-movie aspect surprised me, but it took on this whole new meaning, so it was a good twist.
Bledel: Oh, good. Yeah, that's what drew me to it.

TVGuide.com: Are you working on anything else?
Bledel: I'm hoping that a few independent projects come together, but nothing definite yet. I'm still reading stuff and seeing what else is going to come together.

pretty much what we kinda knew already, that alexis and matt did have similar views on what they thought should happen. i wonder if her and matt discussed this together.

Thanks for that, Erin. I agree with their opinions about how the show ended, but even if I didn't, I'm glad she and Matt have similar feelings so neither is too upset or bitter about how Rory and Logan's storyline ended.

someone posted this link on the gg news thread. just wanted to bring it over here. it's portrait magazine's tribute to the show. here's a snippet of what they had to say about matt. they also have a picture of the kiss at dinner during A Vinyard Valentine. don't know how accurate this is, considering gravity isn't on schedule for next season, full or midseason.

Quote:
And then there is of corse Rory’s most recent boyfriend – suave rich boy Logan Huntzberger played by Matt Czurchy. Matt is set to star in the new TV show Gravity. Hmm it seems like being cast as Rory’s love interst was a good luck charm for all these actors.
you can find the link on the left side of the magazine's main page

I'm gone for 2 days and there it is... somewhat "news"...

Not linking to the alexis article in the first post, since it's more R&L related, not Matt related, but I'll put the portrait magazine one in the 1st post

Thnx for bringing this over btw!

yay the news is coming in a bit more thickly now, even tho it's not all completely matt related, but i won't complain
it's nice to get a direct answer about alexis' views on R/L, it's nice to have a new interview from her in general. this may sound a bit cynical, but i'm sure even if she was against the R/L break-up, she probably wouldn't say so. but i'm sure she's not being dishonest

I don't think she's being dishonest either.. There's no reason to say that she is..

There's been an 8th ep order for a CW show, mid season called 'Eight days a week' - I didn't know CW was still picking up shows?!

Why not!? Because of the fact that it's on the CW?

I don't like that it's on the CW, but I do like the prospect that we might see more of Matt this year if he's on the show, then when he's not.. Basically I just want him on my screen more often this year, or at least the garantuee that we'll see him there quite a few times

Besides Alexis did not exactly say I was happy that they broke up so I keep that as some hope.
Gravity am not to excited about being on the CW if it gets picked up but I will see Matt anywhere

ye i think the fact that it's on the CW...he could hold out for bigger things. but if it's what he's chosen to do out of the offers he's got, then it's fine by me i'd just like to see him do really well after what he did on GG, he really added so much to the show and wasn't even one of the main characters.

i am a little skeptical of any show that the cw has nowadays. i think because it bothers me how much they rely on the reality shows. beauty and the geek, seriously? it's just a shady feeling i get. lols.

but if it's something that would be good for matt and he would enjoy it, good for him. if you look at rory's past boyfriends, they were able to get other shows on the CW that made them pretty big. milo's a bit of an exception, bedford diaries wasn't a top rated show, but while he was tied into that he had heroes next in line.

anyone read the gossip girls series? lately i've had a LOT of time on my hands and read the first 2 books and just started the second. i recall a while ago that they were thinking of putting matt somewhere in the show, not as like a main character but like guest appearing i think? as i've been reading, i can kinda see matt as playing eric, who is the main character's brother. serena, played by blake lively who was in sisterhood with alexis, is eric's sister and in the book they describe eric as like a college party boy, very outgoing just like serena. when this was first brought up, i think it was specced that he would play a rich, playboy, college guy. and as much as i would hope he would be able to step out of that role and do something a little more mature, i could definitely see matt as eric, even though he hasn't made many appearances in what i've read so far. you never know, they may use him in gossip girls as a step to draw more viewers if gravity does happen.

or maybe not. we havent heard much about gravity. i guess i just need a weekly fix of matt on tv! ahaha. how bout matt on dancing with the stars.
