That's right ... Matt always wanted the fans to know early enough to have a chance to say goodbye to their beloved show ...

This is really cruel! They can't let us watch the last episode without knowing whether it will be the season or series finale! and most importantly, leaving us without Matt news

That's exactly what they are going to do when AB and LG aren't able to make a decision within the next days ...

here is the news.

"Gilmore" -- Goodbye Girls

Say goodbye to Stars Hollow -- "Gilmore Girls" is officially over. Get out your kleenex.

In a statement to TMZ, the CW and Warner Bros. Television says it is "a truly sad moment for everyone" and promises to "give this series the send-off it deserves."

Sources tell TMZ that there were ongoing negotiations with the suits and the actresses in an effort to bring the show back for another season, but they were unable to seal the deal.

The final episode of the show, which launched the careers of Alexis Bledel and "Heroes" star Milo Ventimiglia, airs May 15.

that was from tmz. this is from variety. i have to admit, i'm upset that knowing this was a huge possibility, they didn't get the stories together sooner. i dont' know how great of an ending can happen in two weeks. but, oh well.

'Gilmore Girls' canceled
CW, WBTV wrap production on show

'Gilmore Girls'

Say goodbye to "Gilmore Girls."
After weeks of talks aimed at bringing the show back for a limited run next season, the CW and Warner Bros. TV have decided to wrap production on the quirky dramedy that focused on fast-talking femmes. Skein, now in its seventh season, will air its final episode May 15.

"Gilmore" was a holdover from the now-defunct WB network. Debuting in 2007, it quickly became one of the Frog's signature skeins, with crix eating up the witty banter between mom Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). Series was set in the fictional hamlet of Stars Hollow, CT.

CW and WBTV released a joint statement noting the passing Thursday morning.

"Announcing the final season of 'Gilmore Girls' is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television," statement read. "This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters."

David Rosenthal exec produced and served as showrunner on the current season of "Gilmore," which was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. WBTV and CW thanked the producers and cast for their work, as well as crix who supported the show with glowing reviews.

"(We) promise to give this series the send off it deserves," statement said.

Thanks Tanique.

Wow, so this sucks. I don't think GG is going to get the ending it deserves... and there really wasn't a proper send-off either, I mean, no one even attended the wrap party except for LG... some goodbye, huh?

Oh, I hope so. I'm ready to move on from GG, but I still need my Matt fix. And seeing him in a police uniform just might do the trick.

yeah, i think they are trying to hype it up. the only thing i can even imagine is that they shot two endings. one where they skip the time forward.

not at all, how i thought the series would end. ugh.

`Gilmore Girls' to Wrap After 7 Years
May 3rd, 2007 @ 1:23pm
By LYNN ELBER
AP Television Writer

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Gilmore Girls," the saga of an independent mother and daughter that helped strengthen the young WB network, will end its run after seven seasons.

The show, which last year moved to the CW network created by the merger of WB and UPN, will air its final episode May 15 at 8 p.m. EDT, CW and producer Warner Bros. Television announced Thursday.

"Gilmore Girls," starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel and created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, "helped define a network and created a fantastic storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters," CW and the studio said in a joint statement.

They thanked fans for their "passionate support" promised to give the show "the send-off it deserves."

Ratings had dipped this season for the series, which lost Sherman-Palladino as its guiding hand because of a contract dispute.

The drama with comic overtones followed the lives of single mom Lorelai Gilmore (Graham) and her equally bright and beautiful daughter as they grew up together, struggled through romances and tried to find their place in the world.

Rapid-fire patter, the series' hallmark, delighted fans but took a toll on its cast.

"Getting the language perfect requires a number of takes that you might not have on another show," Graham told The Associated Press in January.

"It's just a lot of work _ 13, 14 hours door to door. I've missed weddings, I've missed babies being born. I'm not complaining, because of what it has brought me, but I would be ready for a different balance."

Sherman-Palladino and her husband and fellow executive producer, Daniel Palladino, left after failing to come to terms with the studio on a new deal, and the series struggled creatively and in the ratings this season.

The April 24 episode drew fewer than 4 million viewers, down about 25 percent compared to the same time last year.As production on the show got under way last fall, its future then uncertain, Graham speculated about the final chapter.

"I care very much how the story ends," Graham said told the AP. "... It would be my worst nightmare if we end the show with a wedding. To me, the premise of the show was, `What if your parent was your best friend?'"

"That's the thing you leave people with, the strength of this family and this relationship," she said
OK THIS TOTALLY SUCKS. THIS BETTER BE THE BEST SERIES ENDING THEY EVER DO.
THAT MEANS KEEPING RORY /LOGAN TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess we can only hope.
