Good to hear But truth to tell, I'm a bit peeved that the anti thread on the GG board is using Matt's statement as the title, that's to be expected I guess

Things like that are to be expected. Just like the Sophies thread used Milo's quote when he said that he liked Rory and Logan together, even though he took that back a few months later...

and the way they put the title isn't how Matt said it... He said single, perhaps single as in unmarried, just like they said the same thing about Alexis in an interview a few months ago, that she was single while she was still with Milo.. It just depends on what you think of when you hear the word 'single'... Though I must say that it's a very deceiving word...

But the way Matt said it didn't sound good. He said he wanted her to be single and doing her own thing pfft...not good! He gave the Antis amo against us!

Matt has the right to his opinion. Still for many actors, they view being married to their "love interest" is seen as the kiss of death - ie no good stories, no good drama to play out etc. It's just that writers can either write a) couples who are already married once the show starts b) who are just a couple.

There are very few instances when a show can write a couple well through friendship, dating and then marriage - Chandler and Monica on Friends is the one I can think of.

Sure he might not want Rory to be attached when she goes off as an overseas journalist but then again, he was speaking as a fan, but since the question was about a wedding, I think that he is just talking about the idea of R/L getting married.

And actors/actresses and people in real life are still considered "single" even if they are in a committed relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend.

Also to make everyone breathe easy - MC wouldn't be a part of GG next season if they officially broke up R/L - I can't see them keeping Logan around especially when they have intergrated him into Rory's storyline and her family - mostly Richard/Emily so much - if they weren't a couple. And an actor loves a steady paying job -- and it sounds like he is very open (and would be very pleased) if GG went past s7, and would want to be a part of that.

Thanks. For some reasons, actors/actress hate playing a couple who goes from dating to marriage, because there is always this fear that their stories will dry up. It's interesting because if you see a recent interview with Scott Patterson with Kristin from E! Online, I believe, he totally dodges her question about wanting Luke/Lorelai back together, and he always talks about as an actor, he loves the tension. He uses that word alot in his brief interview: tension.

That could fit well with MC's thoughts and how there would be some interesting tension in both Rory/Logan's life when she does become an overseas correspondent etc. I am not sure how things work in the journalism world but I am sure that the first year or two anyways, Rory would never been able to instantly find a job as a journalist on the front lines. I could see her moving to a city like London to work with CNN's international station or something to that effect.. Plus what I love about R/L is that being together, there is always tension somewhere, mostly with outside forces, and they have already proved that it makes them stronger..
