Exactly especially when I haven't seen them for a long time or when I feel guilty for not holding contact to them.

yeah, but I don't know it's their birthday you don't have to make a long conversation, you can even go and say I'm actually busy but I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, that'd make it more special cause it'd be like awww you took the time to call lthat's nice
