He grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee. His father, Andy, is a professor at East Tennessee State University and his mother, Sandra, is a homemaker, and are residents of Gray. He has two brothers, Mike and AJ (Andy Junior), a sister Karen, and a cousin Jason Phelps. AJ is married to his wife Diane (in Auburn, Ga), Mike is married to his wife Tiffiniy Sia in Ft. Worth TExas and Karen and her husband Florian live in Vienna, Austria.
Matt is also an uncle of Drew (son of AJ), and Selina (daughter of Karen).

Czuchry graduated with honors in 1999 from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. He won the Mr. College of Charleston pageant in 1998, which won him a 15 week course at Millie Lewis and sparked his interest in acting. He went to school on a tennis scholarship, was captain of the men's tennis team, and was an NCAA ranked player in the Southern Conference. He took one theater class in college, and his professor encouraged him to change his major to drama. Additionally, Czuchry studied acting with Belita Moreno, star of the comedy series George Lopez.
He won the 1995 Tennessee state high school singles championship for Science Hill.

It was during his first role, in The WB's Young Americans, that he met Kate Bosworth. He dated Bosworth from 2000 to 2002.

Czuchry is best known for his role as Logan Huntzberger on the television show Gilmore Girls on The CW. The character is a privileged young man who, during studies at Yale University, becomes romantically involved with Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel). As of the seventh season, the couple is in a transatlantic relationship, as Logan works in London while Rory finishes school back home.

Prior to this role, Czuchry had a recurring guest role on the CBS drama Hack and starred in the pilot of UPN's Jake 2.0. He has also appeared in the movies Eight Legged Freaks and Slap Her, She's French. In addition, he has appeared in the cult favorite TV show Freaks and Geeks as well as on 7th Heaven, The Practice, and Veronica Mars.

i found this matt quote while browsing through old threads, it's what he said to Kristin from E! when asked about the possibility of ASP leaving:

"Until that actually happens, I don't want to think about it, because it's her show," Matt Czuchry told me. "She created it. She produces it. She writes it. Her voice is all the way through it, so I hope that that does not happen, because I love Amy, and I love the work that she does for the show, and it's hers. Do you have anything on tap outside of Gilmore Girls in terms of acting? Rright now I'm just looking at a bunch of stuff, now just is a really busy time and where those decisions for the summer and for the end of the year are going be determined. Gilmore Girls is a big factor in that decision, in finding out what has to do with the show. Right now, there’s a lot of things out there, but it's just kind of that period where I’ll know a lot more in two months. What would you like to do in the future in your career? Are there any specific goals that you have? Great projects with great people. Whether its TV, or film or a play or short films or anything, I look at everything across the board, and see what I’m passionate about, something I’m going to be inspired by every single day that I go to work.
