I liked that Alicia tried to protect him from the truth, that was nice. He has enough going on, he doesn't need to know that.

It is just right that he's in shock right now, with everything happening so fast. I hope that in the following episodes he'll be able to collect himself and maybe actively trying to help with his own case. That would be great: that would show once again his ability to rise up and regroup and find a way (I say "once again" because we often saw Cary actively taking initiative after some defeat, see the end of s. 1, the end of s. 3, the new firm, etc)

Of course the arc could also go in a different direction, with Cary at risk of spiraling down and his friends trying to shake him up

The storyline can go in all kinds of directions which makes it really exciting. And like you, I hope he is going to help solve the problem too.

He had so many things happening at once, so it is understandable he was in shock

Anyone would be in his case. He is used to being on the other side, with trying to keep people out of jail, and now he is the one needing all the help he can get.

I just hope he doesn't get cut or hurt again, that scene was so hard for me to watch
