Yeah it was insecurity.. but it was kind of sweet too.. like he didn't want Tim to come in between him and Lyla.

IT was kind of sweet what he did.. Not wanting to ruin things between them.. Though I'm not sure if in the end it was the smartest move, because she really wanted it, and if it were Tim she would have gotten it.

I would hate that the reason Lyla goes back to Tim would be because of sex. If that's all she wanted, then Chris doesn't deserve that.

no it would be a weird and stupid reason for her to go back to Tim for that reason.. Chris is more deserving if she does that... But she did seem very disappointed.. so I'm not sure what Lyla's train of thought it at this moment.

I don't think it's about sex - I think it's about feeling wanted - actually. IMO.

I think she kinda felt rejected.

Yeah she should have gotten it - but I think it wasn't liek that I think in terms of them commited to their religion she just realized that maybe he's more commited to it than she is.

When I was watching the scene for the first time, I really thought they'd go through with it because didn't Matt describe his character as being Christian, but with an open-mind... but then he stopped. And I was disappointed.

I didn't think his choice had anything to do with his religion or open mind.. I just think he wanted to take things slow in this relationship, especially with Tim still being in the picture in some way...
Perhaps he wanted to protect himself?

Karen I think you are right I think Chris is not totally sure that Lyla is committed to him and I think he wants to be sure before he does something like that
sad for us I know

I also think she wanted him so she could say she was committed.
