S1 was pretty solid to me until the finale, which I hated. S2 was meh until Marissa/Alex, and then I enjoyed all the rest of the season. S3 was a mess.

Season 1 finale was bittersweet. Though it doesn’t make sense that Ryan would go back to Chino with Theresa without being a 100% certain that the baby was his. He wanted to do the right thing, but going back with her, live with her, sleep on the same bed, etc? That was ridiculous. It wasn’t the 50’s. Theresa took advantage of her pregnancy and Ryan’s kindness.

I agree with you on the Theresa taking advantage part but I thought it in character for Ryan to leave Newport.

Like he said to Sandy, he didn't want this kid to grow up like he did. Ryan was always sacrificing himself to help others. It's who he is.

Yeah but he wasn’t even sure the baby was his. He could have simply waited until the baby was born and then he could have been the father to that kid if that was the case. He could have supported Theresa by going to the obgyn appointments, etc without having to move in with her. That’s my opinion anyway.

I just can't believe foster parents allowed a minor to just...leave like that. Like, they could have been arrested. LOL. Ryan was NOT an adult, he was supposed to be living with his legal guardians.
