The editing was horrible. I am sorry, but how was that suppose to intergrate with the actual scene lol

If Ryan looked out his rearview mirror, it would have a lot to do with it. But they DIDN'T SHOW HIM. He just DROVE AWAY. LOL.

Exactly. I just don't see how he could do it from any point. You look at the pilot and she's HUGE. You look at the course of the series, she's HUGE. She's a part of the world. I don't see how you could kill off a character so important as a creator of the show. Anything I create, I start to look at the characters as extensions of myself. I can't point to one and say, "You're dead," unless it's part of the premise. I don't think I could spend 3 years writing for a character and go, "Time to kill you off." I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND!

She was huge for three years and in 16 episodes, he changed the entire premise. The Pilot wasn't just about Sandy picking up Ryan. He gave him a place to stay, yes. But Ryan never wanted to stay in Newport for the Cohens. There's a reason why he was looking back at MARISSA when he had to leave. You didn't see Seth and Kirsten standing there.

EXACTLY! I'm not belittling Ryan/Cohens, but that is not the sole relationship on the show. Family dynamics are nice, but life is about romance too. And Josh created a world where Ryan/Marissa were meant to be, and then three years later he reneges on it? It's absolute crap.

I am sick of the fact, that he justifies, saying oh "Ryan and Marissa simply wasnt meant to be.

Then why all 3 yrs on the show you were showing opposite of that. or where you really that threaten by how much they were bringing to the show.

Ryan interacted with Marissa more than he did with the Cohens. Love it or hate it, that's the way it was. It's freaking bull**** the way Josh ended things.

It makes me laugh when Josh claims they were never going to end up together. Yes, that's why you spent so much time on them! I get it!

He said that the Ryan/Marissa relationship became a "stranglehold" around the show. Um, not quite. It was laid in the foundation with the pilot. People assumed it was going to be there no matter how much they bitched about it.

And he wants to talk about "strangleholds" how about all the unnecessary guest characters? Sadie? Johnny? Volchok? If we had seen Ryan/Marissa deal with Trey and everything that went down in season two, their relationship wouldn't seem like a "stranglehold," it would be interesting. It was the guest characters that made the storyline seem burdened.

Chris, that's a good point, and what I was thinking, as well. Why do Ryan/Marissa get blamed, as if their relationship ruined things? No, it was Theresa, Lindsay, Sadie, Johnny, DJ, Volchok, etc, that made things ridiculous. It was his guest stars and his stupid stories. What the **** ever.

Ryan and Marissa had so much potential for interesting stories. Trey was a pretty interesting one; I loved that storyline and the payoff in the finale showed how strong they were as a couple. I was really pissed when the writers squandered all that on Johnny, Sadie, and Volchok. I really wish I knew what the hell Josh was thinking.

First of all.

Ryan and Marissa was capable of talking about and dealing with life and their struggles.

Posh Schwartz claims that...

1. Ryan and Marissa was never capable of talking? What the*** then what the hell do you have them talking besides the pool in the outsider, talking about Marissa's non existing dog, or Ryan stuff animal? Ryan sat there and asked her how she was dealing with stuff and she said honestly what she felt. Too bad posh didnt decided to use this concept and stretch it out for the next 2 seasons for them.
2.Ryan and Marissa couldnt make it work.Sure, they couldnt make it work, when you have the same repetivie BS looking down on them and not having them actually deal with it. You spent more time making them into adults and having them deal with adults issues that you never gave them the chance to actually be 17/18 yrs old these are heavy issues that of course they are going to have trouble dealing with but I guess you have to be like 12 yrs old in order to shoot someone in the back and then dont deal with the emotional fall out from that. .

Josh is an idiot. Ryan and Marissa can't talk? Sit down and type out a conversation for them. It's as easy as that. And you'll probably get a better fan response.

LMAO. I know. I love how he said that like he couldn't CHANGE it. You write the show, dude! These people aren't real! You type out a scene and then the actors act it out.
