Wow so many are coming out of the wood works. Was Cosby THAT powerful? At a time where Chris Rock needed his white SNL co-stars to wave a cab for him? How was he THAT powerful? I know The Cosby show was huge but I never expected it to have been that huge back then. I bet Lisa Bonet has a lot of t to spill.

Honestly, I think he was so powerful at least partially because he was more or less aligned with Reagan in the 80s. He was the morality police, the lovable dad. The Jell-O pudding guy, for God's sake. When he lost his child, the nation felt like they'd lost a child with him. And serial rapists are always good at picking their victims- in this case vulnerable barely-legal girls who would have believed he was all-powerful even if he wasn't.

My mom named my youngest brother after Reagan. She didn't know any better at the time and is hella lazy at naming her kids. She gave my other younger brother my name backwards. -_- lol Named me after Lena Horne because she was on tv as I was being pulled out of her. I am dead ass serious about this. LMAO Oh and two of my older brothers are named after people from our family. 3 Patricks and 4 or 5 Robinson's.

LOL, my mom worked in politics and actually met Nixon and Reagan- she despised them both (she met Carter too, who she says was nice). She still pretty much hisses every time Reagan comes up- bring up the name, and you're liable to get a 30 minute tirade about how he ruined the country and no one wants to acknowledge it.

Compared to Reagan, Obama should look like an A + President but your mom's right. No one wants to acknowledge how awful he made the country. The conservatives treat Obama the way they should treat Nixon after Watergate as it is.

Jimmy Carter was a nice president but maybe to nice and Bill was very charming and shady. He also probably had Hilary helping out as more than just the First Lady. The two Bush terms was me in high school and college. I felt like he got the second term because people were still afraid of the 9/11 situation and change would've scared people or whatever. Plus John Kerry was such a weak candidate. I rooted for John Edwards over him and it was for shallow reasons tbh. lol
