OT #289: Liz does not approve of the deaths on Lost.

Can't believe we've had almost 300 OT threads.

SAYID risked his life for the others. Those deaths killed me last night.

I'm very certain EVERYONE is going to die on the show now. It's going to hurt watching Jack, Kate, Hurley all die. Claire, Sun and Jin will not get to see their kids grow. Jin did not even meet his daughter

Jack and Hurley I think still has use. Hurley is like some ghost whisperer LOL but him crying last night killed me. Jack and Kate trying to hold it in but couldn't? Gahh

Umm I'm not really pissed why Quinn did what she did. She's still a teenager after all. The show always seems to beet up on the Rachel character because she is just so over the top though LOL the Can't touch this and the hammer pants was priceless. And John Groff man I can't take him seriously as a strait guy when he sashays more than Kurt LOL But my favorite scenes of the episode was Sue, her sister and Sandy from Grease lol Ohh and Emma's "NO ONE IS SAFE" lmao

This isn't as bad as her lying to Finn, lol. I just never got much of a motive from her on it. How did this even help her social status? Does anyone other than Will know she did it?

That's Jesse, right? Yeah, lol, during the fight by the locker my mom was like "I think they (Jesse and Rachel) have more of a problem because she's not his type." But that kid can sing! Which is good, because some of the boys are lacking. Finn can only do certain songs, same with Kurt, I don't think I've ever heard two of the guys sing, Puck is decent but not great. Really, Artie blows them all out of the water.

I like Artie's singing, but his voice sounds weird to me. Maybe because I can't un-hear his speaking voice. I really enjoyed Dancing With Myself and Proud Mary though. The one this week...with Total Eclipse of the Heart and Run Joey Run it just got overshadowed. He's got a good soul voice, though. Just...let's not rap. Same goes for you, Mr. Shue.

I think Finn's improving. Sure, last week was a misstep, but that just wasn't his song. But he did really well with Open Your Heart, which I didn't expect he would. And he transitioned from Jesse really well in Run Joey Run. I definitely don't think he's as bad as people bitch about on other sites. Of course, some people online say Lea Michele is a bad singer which...no. Puck's not as great as everyone says he is either. And I thought Kurt sounded his best in the 4 Minutes one from the Madonna episode.

I also questioned Quinn this week. I wish she'd be nicer to those kids, especially after the headway she made with Mercedes last week. But Dianna did really well with the scene, I thought. And was it just me, or did her belly grow drastically from last week to this week?

And I don't think Puck necessarily wanted RACHEL as much as a living breathing female, Sam. He's a little bit of a manwhore if you haven't noticed.

I also love Lean on Me, where Artie had a lot of the lead (of course, so did Mercedes, which virtually guarantees more play on my iPod, lol).

Hee! Aw, I kinda liked Gold Digger. Again though, Mercedes. Matthew Morrison can seriously dance.

They have RUINED Endless Love on the other hand. Not because Matthew and Lea weren't good, because every time it comes up on the soundtrack I picture Rachel stalking Will through the room with the Crazy Eyes and Will trying to hide from her, with his hilarious internal monologue, and I start giggling all over again.

Oh I forgot about Lean on Me. I liked that one too.

Endless Love was so friggin' hilarious on the show. I actually heard the Luther Vandross version on Sirius this morning and had a good laugh.

Unfortunately, I also heard it on the radio yesterday and started laughing, lol. I fear I'm going to be laughing for awhile.

I don't think Finn is hopeless in terms of the signing, I just think he is best in certain kinds of duets with Rachel. I like Don't Stop Believin' and You Can't Always Get What You Want. I don't listen so much to his solos, and they've matched him with the wrong songs sometimes. They do that to Dianne too- what's really annoying is she wasn't all that good in You Keep Me Hangin' On, which was a whole number that ended up on the soundtrack, but she was very cute in Papa Don't Preach, which was just a short little bit that didn't even get a whole song to go on the soundtrack.

However, all three guys were good in Run Joey Run and Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Meanwhile, I am doing the 30 Day TV Meme on Tumblr, and I will also pimo Day 2 of "Show You Wish More People Were Watching" here. Ahem. Hint hint

I think everyone sings fine. And they all have good and bad moments.

I've grown to appreciate Lea a lot more, but the facial expressions still kill my soul every now and then, lol.

I agree with you about Dianna. I thought she was at her best in Papa Don't Preach, which was probably the least tweaked out of the bunch. She was charming in her audition number (Say a Little Prayer) but there was no way those sounds were coming out of Santana and Brittany. She wasn't great in Keep Me Hangin' On, which, like you said, warranted a spot on the soundtrack over her two superior numbers, which is sad. Her worst was when they piped her into Don't Stop Believin'. It was bad enough that she had to be compared with Lea's version, but they autotuned her something awful. And she has a pretty voice, judging from Papa Don't Preach. Not terribly strong, but pretty.

I love the group numbers (Somebody to Love, Can't Always Get What You Want, Hello Goodbye) and nothing will ever top Don't Stop Believin' for me. I really liked Cory on Hello, I Love You, Can't Fight This Feeling and I'll Stand By You as far as solos go. I think Cory and Lea sound good together and can transcend an odd song choice (Smile, for example). I reallyreallyreally disliked No Air and thought that was an awful fit for Cory (Lea can sing anything she wants). But then there was the Borderline/Open Your Heart mashup which I thought was AWESOME. Their voices really married together, Cory hit some difficult notes and sounded great, and the onscreen result was brimming with chemistry. The only time, in my opinion, Cory has been flat out wrong was the last episode when they put him in on Kurt's song. No thanks.

I really want to hear more from Tina/Jenna. She really gets the shaft. And I want them to give Dianna more stuff.

And I just wrote way too much about Glee.

LOL, Sam. That's just a stage actress for you. And stage actor too. The guy who plays Jesse has big facial expressions too.

Preach it to the world.

I also think they need to decide on who they want Quinn to be. Because its almost like 5 different people are writing for her. One second she's the nicest person in the world. And then she's back to being snarky and selfish.

I'll take Quinn any way they give her, but in terms of audience understanding, she can't keep jumping from bitch to best friend.

Although I guess they can break it all down to pregnancy hormones, lol.

No Air was weird, because Cory was NOT good but Lea was better than the original singer of the song, lol.

The problem with You Keep Me Hangin On is that Dianna is not anything ever remotely kind of a little bit tiny fraction resembling Dianna Ross. Lea isn't Barbara Streisand, the Mercedes actress isn't Jennifer Hudson, but they can do a damn fine version of songs like Don't Rain on my Parade and And I Am Telling You, especially for girls so young. Dianna sounds like your typical high school choir student who isn't the lead trying to sing Dianna Ross, lol. But as I've said before, Madonna isn't actually like, a mind-blowing singer. Her songs are just cute, clever, and catchy. Which is perfect for Dianna.

I agree about the schizo issues with Quinn. I think one of the reasons I was disappointed this week was because it seemed like she'd made so much progress last week with Mercedes, then it just went away.

Also, if Quinn and Rachel are still frenemies to where Quinn would be nasty enough to put her on the bottom of the list, they might try actually showing that. I like their frenemies scenes, but they're so inconsistent that I feel like I have whiplash when they randomly pop up out of nowhere, because that's how fast I'm craning my neck in the other direction to go "Did I MISS something?"

Random thing I noticed: Lea is seriously muscular! Quinn might not want to stay consistent with the "enemies" part of that equation when she's no longer knocked up, lol. Rachel could throw her through a wall if she wanted to.

Quinn's relationships are all over the place with nearly every character.

There was that big bonding scene with Mercedes last week. But then wasn't Quinn the first person Mercedes pointed her finger at when she was being questioned?

Finn. How do Quinn and Finn not even glance at each other? I also don't even know where Puck stands. And they mentioned that Brittany and Santana are on the outs with Quinn but again, we don't see any of it.

And does Quinn even speak to the others, lol?

She was a focus in the first chunk of episodes, and now I feel like I barely get to see her. Boooooooooooooo. Cause the way the promote the show is that she's second lead to Lea. But that's not how its playing on screen.

I always feel second to Lea is Jayma or Jane then the rest of the female cast. But the show really has not delve in so deep on Rachel's character other than she is BSC lol like with Kurt we got to meet his dad, Fin we met his mom in the pilot and we even met Puck and Quinn's parents too, but Rachel's dad(s) are just mentioned and we all know her mom was an egg donor, but I'm betting my money that Idina's character will turn out to be her mom lol

I'm really not that bothered by how bipolar Quinn is lol she's preggers first and second she's still a kid. I've known worse lol

Yeah, I think Quinn might come second to Rachel in terms of the young girls (and overall, she still does- it's not like we know anything about Mercedes or Tina and their home lives. Each girl has gotten like, one episode worth of depth and Mercedes' didn't come until last week), but I think both Emma and Sue are probably more focused on.

There was an interview with the creator where he felt like the baby drama was too much in the first half, with Quinn and Terri. So he's pushed Quinn back somewhat, and has delayed Terri's return until next season.

But Quinn and Finn don't need to ever glance at each other, lol. If I were Finn, I'd have gotten out a restraining order against her, after I got all my money back (nope, no sympathy because she's pregnant- you do the crime of lying about your baby daddy and demanding money from the fake one, you do the time. The time being give the money back). That he's willing to be in the same room with her is about as much as I'd ever swallow.
