It is. A show I liked was cancelled when it performed better than the stupid 2 mil viewers this show gets. And don't give me the online/ITunes crap because VM performed the same.

And besides that, it's overrated as ****. I don't like things that are overrated. And I'm just not a fan. I've seen it and I'm not a fan. Just like people don't like other programs on TV and they speak their minds on that.

Nobody is comparing it. Leighton knows that SatC is an iconic show, that's why she basically said that GG is really lucky to get to shoot in the Hamptons when not even SatC had a chance to do that.

She wasn't dissing the show or saying that GG now all of a sudden trumps SatC. She merely stated that GG is being given an opportunity that SatC didn't have.

Honestly, because the refusal to admit that the critics failed to get mass viewer interest in this show is unlike anything I've ever seen. This show barely gets 2 million viewers. It's not successful. The stubborn denial of it, and the overrated bulls*** like trying to claim it's the best teen show there's ever been (tell that to 90210's 19 million viewers in its heyday, lol) is actually ANNOYING to me. I don't throw around overrated like Jess does, lol, but this show truly IS overrated to the extreme, and I'd think so even if Josh didn't run it.

You can't possibly draw conclusions from the ratings because the television climate is vastly different this year. Every single show on The CW is down therefore logic indicates that VM would be too. So even though VM was rating the same as GG before, it's fair to say that it wouldn't be performing the same had it remained on the air. It was already on a downward spiral.

That's incorrect. Its had one week where it slumped down to 2 million viewers and that does not create a trend.

And success is subjective. It doesn't have to be a SUCCESS, it just has to be successful enough.

Can I be annoyed that The CW releases promos like the OMG ones that indicate they give Josh free reign when they forced Rob to re-write scripts four and five times, and were originally the ones to suggest a love triangle?

And also that magazines are trying to proclaim it the best teen show there's ever been? Please. PLEASE. 90210, DC, The OC, and OTH are ALL better than that crap, lol.

BUT GG actually gets publicity and the ratings still blow.

Yes, I'm a hypocrite and watch it and 25% of the time enjoy it. But it ain't a great show, that's for sure. LOL.

VM did better than GG and it had no promotion. GG is being forced down our throats and...nothing. You can't ignore that.

Because the assumption is that OTH is an established show that's been runnnig for years. Its much harder to attract viewers to an existing show than it is to a freshmen show.

And GG is the show that kicks off the night and therefore any increase in GG is also beneficial to OTH.

Remember that OTH started with ratings lower than GG, and it grew to be a respectable show by its second season. The CW should be commended for having faith in a struggling show rather than just axing it.

The ending was stubbornness on Rob's part; he refused to admit that it was the final season. But yes, they forced Rob to basically take all the gritty noir that made the show so good in S1 and S2 out of it.
